I don't own Grey's Anatomy or the characters. I only own this story.

Derek hated Mark. He hated him more than words could describe. He had slept with his wife. He screwed up his marriage. But now it was like a distant thought. He worked with Mark. Even though he was a pain in the ass and was a man whore he started to like him. Not as a friend, but more. What the fuck was up with that? He was funny, hot, good at what he did, and he seemed to want to make it up to him.

He just had to wait for the right moment. The moment finally arrived when Mark asked him out to drinks after work. "Okay. As long as you're buying." Mark grinned big, it was his triumphant smile. Derek shook his head before heading back to work. Finally after he got off he went to go meet Mark at Joe's. He saw him sitting in a booth way back in the corner. He had already ordered drinks.

He smiled as he went over. He slides into the booth. Mark's whole face lit up when he saw him. "I didn't actually think you would take me up on this" Mark comments with obvious glee. "I almost didn't." Derek tilted his head back as he took a shot. Mark did the same. The two began to talk about work and what cool things they had seen. The conversation eventually led to the whole wife situation.

It ended with Derek getting up and storming out. Mark paid and quickly followed. He caught him just about to get in his vehicle. "Why are you so pissed at me, and don't give me some shit about me fucking up your life because we both know you didn't love her." They stood there looking in each other's eyes. Derek knew Mark was right. He hadn't loved Addison for some time now.

He shook his head "I don't know" Mark threw his hands up "Than forgive me damnit!" Derek sighed "I want to… I just" "WHAT?" Mark yells. He was clearly frustrated. They stood there for several minutes. "Fuck it I'm done" Mark said as he starts to walk away. Derek just stood there and watched him go. The next day Derek tracked him down after work. His mind was set. "Mark… Joe's?" he stood there with a hopeful smile. Mark sighed "Fine. But tonight drinks are on you" Derek laughed and they walked out together.

After a couple of shots Mark eyes Derek warily. "Well?" Mark finally asks to break the silence. He was done with the games. Hell… they both were. "You… infuriate me. Everything about you should repel me, but..." Derek stops and shakes his head. Mark laughs "Dude…" Derek looks up at him obviously not amused. Mark only laughs harder.

Derek gets up to leave after drinking the remains of his drink. Mark isn't too far behind. Even though it was clearly Derek's turn to pay for the drinks he laid down a few bills and catches Derek once again at his car. This time as Derek turns to no doubt yell and start another fight Mark catches either side of his face gently between his hands and places a slow kiss on his lips.

Just some fluff… thoughts?
