Chad POV
I was sitting down in a movie theater, my arm around my girlfriend, Sonny Monroe. We have been dating for about seven months already. I kiss her head softly as she puts her head on my shoulder.
The movie is halfway, when I hear screams. Sonny and I turn around to see a man with a gun coming down the row. I crouch and pull Sonny with me. I cover her, but as the man come right in front of our row.
He looks at us, and pushes me aside and grabs Sonny. He is about to leave when I say, "Sir, please, take all of my money, my car; anything, just do not take Sonny."
He stands still, thinking, before, saying, "Listen son, how about this since you love your girlfriend so much. I will kill you and let her go. How does that sound?"
I think for a moment, well Sonny, she is my Sonny I have to protect her, put her first.
I gave a straight out, "Yes"
He smiles and throws Sonny on the floor. She is scared to death. I give her a smile. I hear the gunshot; I feel the pain, now I am in darkness.
I wake up, but it looks like a dream, I am at the movie theater, the scene is happening again and again, man comes with a gun, grabs Sonny, I get shot.
"Good choice, Chad", I hear some familiar voice say.
I turn around to see my dad.
"Dad?"
"Yes, Chad, it is me. I just have some news for you, and then you will be on your way."
"What?"
"I am proud of you son, putting her life in front of yours. Getting shot just so she can live. I love, son, but it is not your time."
"I love you too, Dad", I say feeling tears in my eyes as we hug.
Everything fades, I wake up, and I am now I a hospital room.
I look over and I see Sonny crying on my chest.
"Sonny", I whisper.
She looks at me in disbelief, and then throws her arms around me.
I laugh, and then she looks at with a serious face.
"Chad Dylan Cooper, don't ever scare me like that again. Are we clear?"
I shake my head and say, "Sonny, I would die for you. So I do promise not to scare you, but I cannot promise, not to protect you. I love you, Sonny Monroe."
"I love you, too."
"Sonny can you give me my jacket?"
She gets it from the chair, stains of blood are all over, I reach into the pocket, and pull out something.
She is staring in wonder. I sit up slowly, and say, "Sonny Monroe, I know we are only 17, but I want to marry you someday, I love you, so can you accept this promise ring?"
She smiles her famous Sonny-smile, and says, "Yes."
I put the ring on her finger, and pull her into a passionate kiss.
Yay, so I am more pleased with this, plus in this one Chad did not die. So hoped you enjoyed. Please read my Faith, Hope, and Love story, and then read the sequel, Sonshine, Hope, and Friends. I am on writer block for the sequel.
