Prologue
It was quite easy for Adele, to drown, one last time in the wondrous blue orbs of her angel. The same eyes that evoked the very first of memories, the ones, which had told, of how she came to be. Memories which were not all forgotten, but momentarily ignored, for they would pull her from the bliss that had evolved by the fresh start at life…A life that had now been so crudely ripped out of her own grasp, at a time when nothing else seemed to be able to shatter it.
Now, there Adele lay, softly cradled in the arms of a broken, fallen angel. An angel, which had already once had its wings torn and ripped. He seemed doomed to be forever fallen. There was another before her, who had looked upon the same man and labelled him an "angel". Although this woman idolized and cherished him, she had betrayed, condemned, and abandoned him. It was up to Adele to pick up all the feathers and fashion him a new pair of wings, better than before, to be able to soar again.
Slowly, Adele fought to bring a weak hand up to beloved's faces, all the while keeping contact with his eyes that threatened to spill over with the deepest of oceans watery depths. Just one tear to show the depth of his broken soul… She ran her fingers gingerly over every inch of his face, memorizing its textured feel underneath the skin on her fingertips. Only when she heard the quiet sobs racking the body next to her, did she let her own tears fall down her face. It was then that she realized that this would be the last time she would ever look upon his beautiful face again.
Darkness slowly curled around the outer reaches of Adele's mind, to embrace her as she relived the few passed months with her angel. As her world slowly faded to the deepest black, the quiet sobs had all but receded from her ears.
You promised you would never leave me…
