Engaging Chevrons

O'Neill's mind wondered as he gazed upon the large metal ring that stood beyond the reinforced glass. Were they alright? Could they possibly be safe without him? He had no idea, all he could do, at the moment, was sitting and waiting… A lack of activity he was not too familiar with. The hands on each sides of the keyboard, he longed for action, silent.

A sudden vibration woke his senses as he was beginning to let his guard down. In the room below him, orange lights were lit. Soon, the blue event horizon appeared with the splash of a vortex. The iris closed down. Jack raised his head to look at the monitor. Yes! A G.D.O. was used and soon the transmission was decoded as an SG Team access code. The colonel ordered the iris to retract and soon he witnessed the arrival of a very special convoy: Hammond came through, right next to Stephen Eddington, the 42nd President of the United States of America.

Wheeling himself towards the stairs, O'Neill waited for them to come up. He saluted the Commander in Chief as soon as he was in sight, a salute that was given back to him, but without the same energy. The president did not seem that joyful, something must have happened on P3T-717. Hopefully, Jack wouldn't have to wait too long for the debriefing as his teammates finally made it to the control room.
