Preface:
Harry Potter was always a boy who knew the darker side of life, since his first memories with the Dursleys; Harry knew what he could expect from his life. In the later know Muggle World, Harry would find that he disliked even existing there. His extraordinary talents, he later learned at Hogwarts, were much more likable than anything he might accomplish with the Dursleys. Harry in no way hated the muggle world; after all he was part of it for more than eleven years. Until he received his invitation to the magical world of Hogwarts and beyond, Harry thought that his life would be a constant struggle for bare survival. However when he went to Hogwarts and realized just how great life could be he quickly abandoned the thoughts he had for the horrible muggle existence. Throughout his school life Harry had battled many terrible things; he however experienced many good things. His friends Ron and Hermione, his godfather, his father's friend Remus Lupin, Dumbledore, and so many friends and relations he nearly lost count. His school days had far exceeded any joy before or after them. Once he and his friends had completed their school training they were thrust into the horrible battle between good and evil, Voldemort had returned to a power that was remarkably like the first attempt he had in the wizarding world.
Chapter 1:
With a severe kick in the abdomen, Harry, who had lain unconscious in the dungeon he had been searching for survivors of a gruesome Voldemort attack, woke with a start and dimly thought 'where am I?' before:
"Get up you wretch." Hissed a voice standing above him.
Harry tried to push himself up, but the pain was incredible, 'He must have used the Cruciatus curse on me' thought Harry. He struggled to his feet and came face to face with a man he recognized as Rockwood. Rockwood had his wand out and there was a slight smile on his ugly face.
"I'm going to escort you to my master." Hissed Rockwood in a faint whinny voice.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." Harry replied in a low tone.
"And what are you going to do to stop me…" replied Rockwood quickly with a slight trace of apprehension.
But just as Rockwood finished the sentence, Harry with lightning fast reflexes slammed Rockwood into a wall and pulled out his wand. Rockwood slide down the wall in a slight daze as Harry uttered: "Expeliamus" and Rockwood's wand flew to his waiting hand.
"That's why not…" Harry said quickly, but was distracted almost at once by a low scream coming from a pile of fallen rock to his right. He quickly used a spell to remove some rocks and debris to find a girl only a couple of years younger than he was lying with a deadened look in her eyes. He bent down and scooped her into his arms and apparated to a nearby wizarding hospital that was sheltering survivors. He quickly notified a nurse there before leaving the girl and apparating back to retrieve Rockwood. However when he appeared in the dungeon, Rockwood was no where to be seen.
"Damn he must have apparated" Harry cursed to himself.
He decided that since this rescue effort hadn't been to successful he should return to Hogsmeade and notify the Dumbledore of the past weeks events. So he apparated to the platform in Hogsmeade where he had arrived and left Hogwarts during his school years. He sighed to himself and quickly walked the winding path up to the school.
