Year One:

"Oh, come on, you know you want to say it." Persuaded James.

"No, I would never ever ever ever ever ever say it, James Potter. Never in a million years would I ever ever ever ever say anything remotely close to that." Lily said, crossing her arms.

"Just say it, Evans! I. Like. James. Potter." James said slowly, as if speaking to a child.

"Fine." James' face lit up. "I. Hate. James. Potter."

"Bad luck, Prongs." Sirius said.

Year Two:

"This is the year, Evans, the year you go out with me! I can feel it!" James grinned.

"The only thing I can feel is your hot, stinky breath on my neck which is annoying me immensely. So move before I hex your face off." Lily stood up from the couch in the Gryffindor common room.

"Bad luck again, Prongs." Sirius smirked.

Year Three:

"Say, Lily, you're a gal, and I'm a guy, so…"

"You're an idiot and I'm always right." Lily grinned and picked up her books, exiting the library. Sirius, who was waiting behind a bookshelf, came out and said,

"Give it up, Prongs."

Year Four:

"Lily—"

"I swear on Merlin's grave, Potter, if you don't go away right now, I'll punch you." Lily said without looking up. James backed away slowly.

"Prongs. She hates you." Said Sirius, grinning.

Year Five:

"Lily, how would you feel if you were me, getting rejected by the love of your life every year?"

"Oh, you poor thing!" simpered Lily. James grinned and ruffled his hair. "I thought you were used to it, you fail so often!"

"Face it, Prongs. It's never happening." Said Sirius.

"And what's with those silly names anyway?" Lily called back.

Year Six:

"Lily, can you help me with our Divination homework?"

"You're not even taking Divination."

"Oh, but making predictions is really easy for me. You'll be Lily Potter and we'll have a son named Ha—"

"No wonder you dropped it. That's about as possible as Peter being a spy."

"Ooo, Prongs, you got trashed!" crowed Sirius.

Year Seven:

"Lily, will you go out with me?" James stopped, then cowered. "Please don't hit me!"

"Why would I? And it sounds like fun!"

"Wait, what? Is this a joke? Am I being pranked?" James checked wildly around for cameras. "Is this Padfoot—er, Sirius' idea? Cause it's not funny, Sirius!" bellowed James.

"It's not a joke! I'm being serious!" smiled Lily. James grinned and ruffled his hair.

"And who said it wouldn't work, Padfoot!" yelled James, his arm around Lily.

"Don't be silly, I had faith in you the whole time." Sirius scoffed. As James and Lily walked away, Sirius looked at them, shaking his head. "Well, Prongs, looks like I underestimated you. And overestimated Evans. Thought she would have better taste." He shrugged and walked the other direction.
