Author's Notes : This lyrical was inspired by "Yasashisa no Tane," a CCS tearjerker soundtrack I recently downloaded. This song gave me a lot of motivation as I wrote the prelude, though I couldn't use the lyrics. The first chapter will be posted as soon as I finish writing. Until then please bear with my laziness. ¬_¬

Suddenly before my eyes
Hues of indigo arise
With them how my spirit sighs
Paint the sky with stars

[ At first, everything was immersed in complete darkness. The image of the evening sky is fleetingly unravelled, dotted with an undying number of glittering stars. After a few brief moments, a wispy voice eloquently hums a gentle, rousing tune in the shadowy background. A blurred vision of a quaint scenery is slowly revealed, drowning all remaining doubts and reluctance aside. The singing voice, sounding less distant and more powerful than before resounded with a melodramatic prayer: The Requiem of Love. ]

Only night will ever know
Why the heavens never show
All the dreams there are to know
Paint the sky with stars

[ Despite the lateness of the hour, excited villagers were gathered in a loose circle, simply talking and laughing as they sat wide awake. The noise was toned down as a tense figure walked awkwardly to meet the crowd's gaze. Dressed in long robes, was a girl carrying an aura of nervousness as she hurriedly bowed her head to begin the act. With but a few skilled movements, the audience was no sooner rapt with the girl's expert dance. ]

Who has paced the midnight sky?
So a spirit has to fly
As the heavens seem so far
Now who will paint the midnight star?

[ The soft, vivid melody of a beautiful ballad echoed endlessly in her mind. As she circled around the room in time with the music, her scarlet gown flowed elegantly with each graceful step. The wind gently blew wisps of her long, brown hair as she waltzed in lively motion, charming the audience with her litheness. ]

Night has brought to those who sleep
Only dreams they cannot keep
I have legends in the deep
Paint the sky with stars

[ The young dancer closed her eyes, her shifting silhouette drenched with all the glory she could possibly offer. With the words of the song lingering in her mind, she glimpsed longingly at the sea of faces, desperately seeking the person she wanted to see the most. Her subtle voice half-wrenched into a contented sigh as she found him, silently admiring her with interest. ]

Who has paced the midnight sky?
So a spirit has to fly
As the heavens seem so far
Now who will paint the midnight star?

[ It was the role of her dreams, the part she ever wanted. Yet as she timidly stared at his smiling features, she slowly realized that her childhood dream wasn't worth it all, now that she had found him. She simply wanted to immerse in an intense desire. Loving him, and being loved by him in return. ]

Place a name upon the night
One to set your heart alight
And to make the darkness bright
Paint the sky with stars

[ The picture of the happy villagers is now nothing more than a mere hazy illusion. As the girl ends the last few steps of her dance, the voice still shows no sign of concluding the song. The words are simply endless, the melody just can't seem to stop... ]
