I've decided to do extra challenges. This is when Tigerstar was a kit, and I'm writing a story about- not telling.
The Bigger They Are, The Harder They Fall
Tigerkit batted at his sister, Mistkit. He twisted and kicked at Nightkit. Wow! What a great warrior Tigerkit would be. His father, Pinestar looked proudly down at him. Tigerkit purred in return.
Tigerkit could easily fight his sisters single-pawed. He was twice their size. Then he noticed Thistleclaw, about to pad out of the gorse tunnel. Tigerkit quickly rolled into the shadows and crept behind the senior warrior.
"Rawr!" Tigerkit pounced with sheathed claws.
Thistleclaw thrashed but when Tigerkit saw a leaf floating down, he jumped off of the warrior, shredding the leaf, just in time before Thistleclaw landed hard on his back.
"Mouse-brained kits!" Thistleclaw murmurs. He stormed off.
Suddenly, something rough attacked Tigerkit. "Mother!" he protested.
"There you are! We were looking for you everywhere! Where did you go? How did you get away from Mistkit and Nightkit?" Tigerkit's mother, Leopardfoot chatted away. To Tigerkit, Leopardfoot was a perfect mother. Not going into business, doesn't do everything you didn't ask, but was nice and never scolded.
Under Leopardfoot's licking in the nursery, Tigerkit whispered to Mistkit. "Hey, I bet cats can fly!"
Mistkit cocked her head, looking puzzled.
"I mean, I bet we could jump of the High Rock!" whispered Tigerkit. Mistkit's eyes widened in surprise and fear. Mistkit and Tigerkit suddenly both dashed out of the nursery with a confused Leopardfoot.
"Nightkit!" bubbled Mistkit. "Tigerkit wants to jump off the High Rock!"
Tigerkit snorted. "Not unless you will be quiet, or else the warriors will hear us! But since we're small... except for me, I think we could easily sneak up there. Our small size would be hard to see, unless someone's going to be paying attention on top of the High Rock."
"Alright, let's do it!" squeaked Nightkit.
"Do what?" snorted a voice from behind. A gray-blue warrior stood behind the three kits. It was Bluefur, another senior warrior.
Tigerkit looked up bravely. "We're going to see if I can pin Nightkit and Mistkit at the same time!"
Bluefur shook her head and padded away. "Kits these days," she murmured as she slipped into the warriors den.
"Alright, let's go now," muttered Tigerkit.
The three kits climbed up the High Rock slowly and carefully, trying not to be seen. Finally they got to the top. They were so amazed! Tigerkit, Mistkit, and Nightkit still kept their heads down, but they could still see the whole ThunderClan camp!
Finally, Tigerkit stood up and yowled,"O' Clan! We three kits are here! We are ready to fly!"
Warriors poked out with a surprised look on their faces. So did the apprentices. But mainly, Leopardfoot came.
"Oh, there you are! What are you doing up there?" asked Leopardfoot. Suddenly her calm eyes filled with terror. "No! Don't jump!" She thrashed her way to the front of the group of cats, but Mistkit lightly leaped down safely, and so did Nightkit. Leopardfoot ferociously licked them, then realized Tigerkit was missing. He was bunching his muscles.
"Tigerkit, no!" But she cried out her warning to late. Tigerkit leaped, but quickly fell, hard to the ground. Leopardfoot tried to catch him, but she couldn't. No wonder Tigerkit was so ungraceful. The bigger they are, the harder they fall.
So that was my own 'story'. This was not Tigerkit's death of course. He survived. And then the books come and go. I hoped you liked it! Please review! :)
