Temporary Home
The Cullen's had left Forks six months ago, Edward had forced them to move away because his worst fear had come true. They had moved to Switzerland and Edward left. Rosalie and Emmett had gone on a hunting trip yesterday leaving Alice, Jasper, Carlisle and Esme alone in the house that they were still struggling to call 'home'.
Alice was sitting on the bed in her and Jasper's room thinking about everything that had happened. For one she was fed up with being in Switzerland. They hadn't left the house in weeks, Edward was no where to be seen, they hadn't heard from him in months. All Alice wanted was to find him and drag his stupid ass back to Forks with them. Her thoughts kept going to Bella and how she must be feeling but she had to stop herself from looking in on her.
"Alice?" Jasper asked walking into the room, "Ali, I've been calling you for the last ten minutes."
Alice sighed, she had been lost in her thoughts and hadn't heard her husband calling her.
"Sorry Jazz, I just keep thinking about Bella and Edward," Alice explained.
Jasper closed the door and sat next to Alice on their bed.
"What about them has you worried now?" Jasper asked concerned.
Jasper had spent the last six months apologising to everyone for being the cause of their sudden uprooting. He was worried about Alice, she wasn't used to being forced against her instincts. Alice had spent the last six months trying to keep her mind off of Bella so that she wouldn't see her future. Every time she did think of Bella, he would talk her through it and it would take her mind away from Bella.
"I just hate that we left without saying goodbye and I keep getting this sickening feeling that something isn't right. Like she's in danger or something," Alice sighed, "and Edward well he's being very indecisive and it's really hurting my head."
Jasper lifted Alice to sit her in between his legs, she laid her head back onto his chest and Jasper massaged her temples.
Even though they technically couldn't get headaches it didn't mean they couldn't feel some kinds of pain.
"Well with the Bella situation there's nothing you can do, you promised Edward not to look in on her. As for Edward you know he's struggling and he's stubborn. He'll be okay Ali, you don't have to worry. He'll come back when he's ready," Jasper softly spoke, hoping to soothe Alice a bit easier without having to manipulate her emotions.
It seemed to be working slightly as Alice's face relaxed from her frown.
It didn't last long though as a deeper frown took up residence on her soft face.
"I just want to go back to Forks Jazz. Everything was good there. We were all together, Esme wasn't heartbroken, Edward was in love, Carlisle had a job, Rose and Em were going to take online courses. We didn't have to worry about the sun. We could be a normal family. Then I had to go and throw that stupid party for Bella and everything got taken away," Alice was getting worked up so Jasper pulled her into his arms and held her tight, Alice squeezed back tightly, "this isn't our home Jazz."
Jasper could feel his own emotions changing and he realised that Alice was right, everything was wrong since they'd left Forks. Everything had fallen apart.
"You're right Ali this isn't our home. This is a temporary home. A place for us to stay until things calm down. A safe place until we can go home. This isn't going to last forever. We'll be back in Forks before you know it. We'll be back home," Jasper told his wife soothingly.
Alice smiled softly as she pulled away from her husband's grasp. Jasper was right this was just a temporary home, it wasn't where they belonged but it was somewhere safe until they could go home.
Forks was their real home.
Alice looked forward to the day they could go home.
