"Thanks for walking me home, Kid."

Soft emerald hues had shifted to her companion, an appreciative smile settling to her smooth features as fingers interlocked behind the Meister's back, awaiting the boy to respond.

"It's not a problem at all, Maka. I'm more than happy to accompany you home any day, plus, the grey overhead is a little worrisome and I wanted to make sure you'd make it home alright."

With a nod the Reaper's own expression had smoothed out, a light smile to his lips as golden irises matched with green ones, a quick gaze of admiration showing before their visions were torn apart. For the most part the two walked in silence—Though, it was a comforting one, it wasn't that they had nothing to say, but they just didn't want to say anything.

The silence was nice, small glances taking every so often at different times—He would look at her, then she would look at him, all with that same, admiring gaze.

Though, when that first crack of thunder was heard over head the silence at stopped as the rain began to fall, a small groan escaping each Meister's lips before the droplets began to fall more and more frequently.

"Oh no my books—"

Pressing the textbooks and reading books close to her chest Maka doubled over slightly to make sure they'd be dry and safe from the ran—Not needing to ruin anything, especially before any where even finished.

Kid himself was merely blocking his eyes while watching the grayed sky, a small frown now to his lips—Not being the biggest fan of the rain for how it soaked and ruined everything. Though, once he noticed the female trying to protect the books against her chest his shoulders shifted while fingers quickly worked at the buttons of his blazer, the thin coat soon falling off and being draped over Maka's head.

"Ah—"

Tilting her head up just slightly she caught a quick glance over to the Reaper, a slight tint of red tainting her cheeks.

What a…Gentleman.

Picking up their feet the two began to go at a quicker pace to get out of the rain, sooner than later finding their destination at Maka's apartment. Rushing up the steps to the front door the two shook off and shivered, took nervous glances at each other, then laughed.

They both took this moment to laugh at how each other looked—Hair soaked and sticking to their foreheads, clothing as well though to their bodies—The Reaper worse than Maka, though, considering he had sacrificed his blazer to keep the other dry.

"Thank you, Kid."

"You're welcome."

Tugging at the jacket over her head it soon fell, the Meister shaking it out slightly before holding it back out to the Reaper, the thankful smile over her features not once leaving.

"You can keep it."

Gently pushing the blazer back over to Maka he nodded, letting her know that it was alright if she did and that he had other's—In fact, he wanted her to keep it.

"Okay…Well—Again, thank you, Kid, I'll see you tomorrow…?"

"Of course."

Embracing each other for a quick hug the two shared one last smile before Kid was on his way, the boy covering his head as he ran back off down the street to get himself out of the rain.

Soft, green hues watched as he left, Maka's nose burying into the fabric of the blazer as she took in a small inhale—It smelt like rain and…Well, Kid, she couldn't explain his scent—He had his own, she'd noticed it before.

Little did he know, she'd be sleeping with it tonight.
