It was not an often occurrence when Robin could not be found in the Library of Smash Manor.

It was a fact known among many, if not all, of the occupants residing within the building. Not many cared, for they would tend to be too busy being caught up in their own lives to pay notice to anything going on in the library.

Today was a particularly busy day, if only because Marth and Zelda had decided to come in and read, which had prompted a party to follow. It wasn't the most silent of rooms at this point, but it did not hinder Robin in the slightest.

Though, it left him vulnerable to the blue eyes of the blond hiding behind a bookshelf, with two books currently pulled from their usual place so he can try to make out what Robin is reading and writing in a carefully laid-out book. But it's no use. And hardly the reason he's here, spying on the other.

He had planted himself in the perfect hiding spot; he was barely visible to anyone who might walk in, and close enough to see Robin's face quite clearly, to see how his brows were furrowed in concentration, to see how the pen tip runs over his bottom lip while he thinks...

And it comes as a surprise to Shulk when the white haired man abruptly closes the book he's reading. He hadn't even noticed he was at the end, but now that he was, he was standing to grab a few of the other books so he could return them to their rightful place, and gather new sources to continue his research. Which was exactly the opening Shulk had been anticipating for a good half-hour. He truly tried to stay quiet as he tucked the books back into their rightful place.

He didn't exactly make the quietest of steps, but he certainly wasn't louder than the conversation taking place only a couple of tables away. It was the perfect opportunity for him to place the small note he had been holding between nervous thumbs and fingers, right onto the middle of the hand-written notes. Before he could even convince himself to abort the mission, he could see Robin shifting a little closer, and he made for a daring escape without drawing attention.

Back to his hiding spot, with two different books pulled, so he could be crouching as to hide from the main line of sight, Shulk resumed his waiting game. It was not long before Robin returned with a new pile of books in his arms, and when he gingerly set them down, his eyes immediately landed on the little pink note. With this hands free, he clearly reads the note, but he picks it up anyway, and lip reads it, as though he's in some sort of disbelief.

'Are you the square root of two? Because I feel irrational around you.'

Pale cheeks burned with a blush, and he looked around to find the source of the note. He hesitated to sit back down but when he did, he was rereading the note. Since then, Robin seemed to lose concentration in reading, at least for a good handful of minutes, before he resumed his prior rhythm. And Shulk was grinning like a madman the entire time.

Since then, Shulk would wandered into the library to give Robin these little notes any time he got up for more data.

After all, he was pretty cute when he blushed.
