I do not own any of the characters or places in this poem, though I wish I did, they belong to J.R.R. Tolkien...sigh...oh well, I hope you enjoy it!____________________________

My Hero is an Elf

My hero is an elf

With light feet on the snow.

My hero is an elf

Who gracefully shoots his bow.

His hair is long.

His eyes are deep.

There's a glow around him

When he's asleep.

He's nature loving,

And beautiful.

He loves the woods

Wide, and colorful.

His feet are so quick.

His skin is so fair.

The stars from the sky

Sparkle in his hair.

His voice is sweet.

His legs are long.

He could tame a wild beast

With his beautiful song.

He rides on his horse

With no bridal, nor saddle.

He pulls out his bow

Preparing for battle.

His eyes shine, his hair streams,

He aims his great bow.

An arrow speeds towards his enemy,

And delivers a hefty blow.

Orc, after orc fall before him.

He does not rest till all are slain.

Fighting by his side are a wizard, hobbits and a dwarf,

Boromir, and Aragorn with Isildur's Bane.

Oh Legolas, oh Legolas,

I yearn to know you more.

I'd love to walk beside you

Along the Mirkwood floor.

The dark and beauty of the wood

Is reflected in your eyes.

Yet you want to travel to the sea,

And find what beyond there lies.

The war is not over, my hansom prince.

The battles are not yet done.

I beg of you at least to stay

Until the war is won.

A shadow gathers around Mt. Doom,

And there the evil waits.

Please do your best to help the hobbits

That lie beyond Mordor's gates.

There's not much more that you can do,

Except await command.

Until the ring is cast away,

And darkness leaves the land.

Now your job is done, and we must part,

And so I say farewell.

May blessings and beauty follow you,

Where ever you may Dwell.
