Missing You

A car pulled up along the busy city street and a figure clad in dark jeans and a hoodie that covered his face clambered out, he walked along the dusty sidewalk, huddling his hoodie tighter around him, shielding himself from the cold night air, he reached the huge Iron gates, they were locked but he could easily get thought, he always came here at night, when it was dark, he like it better then, he felt he could truly be alone, without the presence of other mourning families. The chain wrapped around two of the rods on the gate came off easily; it was old and could be removed without actually breaking it, he ducked through the gap he'd created and walked into the dark cemetery, he half jogged along the winding paths until he reached the correct tombstone, he knew the way, he'd been there many times before. He walked over to the tombstone cautiously, shyly, it read:

Here Lives Devin Levin

1969-1996

Beloved Father, Husband and Son

Rest in Peace

The figure read the words over a few times, when he spoke his voice was broken: "Hi Dad"

"It's me, Kevin" he took a timid step forward and removed his hood, revealing his shaggy raven black hair and dark eyes, he looked alot like the deceased whom he stood before "I-I know I haven't been to see you I a while" he took another step, then another then another "I'm sorry, I've been really busy" he stood next to the crumbling stone and slumped to the floor "I'm Seventeen now" he said as if answering an unheard question "I really miss you Dad" he sighed, barely keeping the pools of salty water from running down his cheeks "I'm a Plumber now" he said, unsure how to go on "Like you, a-a-and I save the world" he managed a watery smirk "From the Highbreed and from Vilgax" he lost his usual, laid back teenage attitude and released a loud sob. "I met a Girl" he said a little later, resting his read on the worn stone "her name's Gwen" a tear rolled down his cheek and into his mouth, he didn't brush it away "She's Max's –Ya Know Max Tennyson's Granddaughter a-a-and she's..." another tear rolled down his cheek, this time catching in the crook of his nostril "You would have liked her" he chuckled humourlessly, weakly "Mom Likes her. I-I think I love her Dad" stopped, thinking for a moment while another tear streaked down his face "yeah, I do" He drew a ragged breath and cried some more.

"I really Miss you" his voice sounded like a whine "Mom's OK" he said sadly "she doesn't cry as much anymore, I wish you hadn't..." he didn't finish, he couldn't so he started again "I wish you were still here" more tears streaked is face "I wish you could meet Gwen, she's amazing. I wish you could see my Car, It's just like yours, only better" his intended joke turned out as another loud sob "I wish you were still around to tell me about girls and stuff" he felt his lip tremble and knew another sob awaited "I Miss you Dad, so does Mom" The sob came on the word Dad. He stayed silent for awhile; still crying, his fingers tracing the words embed in the stone, until "I gotta go now Dad" he stood up "I'll come back soon, I promise" he meant it this time "Bye Dad. I love you" he stepped back, casting one last glance to the weathered stone and walked off into the night. His words became muffled the more distance he gained until they were that of a depressive murmur "I Love You"
