For misswhiteblack, who got me into writing Harry Potter again…

She's like a sister to me…

Or that's what it is supposed to be like. Teddy is supposed to see Lily Potter as a sister, since her Father pretty much raised him after his parents died, but he doesn't. He is supposed to see her like that because he has been dating her elder cousin, Victoire, for the past three years.

But he can't get out of his head the feelings he supposes he has had for her since she was born. Since the first time he held her, at the age of ten and a half, he felt some sort of connection with her. Of course he loved, loves, Victoire but it isn't the same type of love that he feels for Lily.

I love Victoire…

He does love her, he does… but it isn't the type of love that he wants to have with the person he spends the rest of his life with. He wants it to be exciting, invigorating, rather than just 'samey' and not exciting. He knows that he shouldn't risk everything for Lily, but he can't help but consider it.

It would be magicalwith her…

It would be. Ever since he held his little Lily on the day she was born, he has felt an undeniable connection. When he was around, she always rushed to him; when she felt stressed or hating her parents, she rang him for advice. He knew that they had something that others envied; a relationship so simple and flawless that people would literally line up for miles to be able to have it themselves.

He knows that Lily has feelings for him but he doesn't know how he should respond; should he follow his heart, or stay with safety, someone he loves but in the wrong sort of way?

Does safety win over true love… or the other way around?

He actually knows that his heart truly lies with Lily; it always has done. He knows that the connection forged between them at her birth is something indescribable, something that nobody could truly explain. He knows that he shouldn't do anything, that the relationship he has with Victoire ought to make him push any feelings for her little cousin to the back of his mind… but it's impossible.

He loves them both.

But does true love win over… well, security love?

In his heart, he knows it does every time.

So how does he tell Victoire?
