Chapter 1

Clara woke up in the morning to a whirring, rumbling noise. She jumped out of bed and raced outside, not even bothering to change. It had been months since she last heard this sound.

"DOCTOR!" she shouted excitedly. The TARDIS door flung open and out came a man. He was tall and lanky, wearing a raggedy suit and a work out bow-tie. On his head was a bright red fez, with two tufts of his mousy hair sticking out in the front. Clara grinned and ran up to him. He spread his arms wide and she gave him an enormous hug. Clara ran into his arms and smiled to herself. It had been months since she had seen him. Her doctor.

"Hello Clara, where and when would you like to go today?" he asked her, smiling broadly. Clara thought for a moment. There were so many options, so many galaxies, so many stars, so many planets. And then there was the time issue. Past or future, present or alternate. Clara chose a one at random, not really thinking about it.

"Doctor, can we see home planet of Strax?" she was the last person who had visited her and She was wondering what sort of planet could house such a rowdy fighter like Strax. The doctor gave her a shocked look.

"Honestly Clara, out of all the places, you want to go to the sontaran home planet?" the doctor asked, frowning. Clara huffed.

"Well, it's the first thing I could think of. I mean, I just woke up!" she retorted with a small pout. The Doctor sighed. Suddenly his eyes lit up, as the light bulb had just been turned on. Clara raised her eyebrows.

"What?" she asked, raising her eyebrows even higher as she watched the Doctor do an odd victory dance. The Doctor, who was flailing his arms above his head, gave a laugh.

"No questions, it's a surprise! Come on, get in the TARDIS," he ushered her into the TARDIS before she could even reply. The two of them entered the TARDIS and she took off.

"Are you going to give me any hints on where we're going?" Clara asked after a while, glancing at the doctor. He looked up and smiled at her.

"Nope,"he replied, adjusting his fez. Clara frowned and loitered around the TARDIS, searching for some sort of pastime.

"You know, I have really bad feeling about this 'surprise'," she said, picking up a rubber ball she found on the ground.

"Why do you say that?" he asked, looking offended. Clara grinned, throwing the ball back and forth between her hands.

"Well, usually when traveling with you, there is at least one moment in the adventure where we almost die or destroy a planet and/or the universe," she explained, tossing the ball to caught it and then promptly dropped it

"That's not tru-" his reply was deafened by a loud yell. The TARDIS had suddenly tilted to the right, flinging both Clara and the Doctor in to the railing. She began shaking violently, altering their course from the Doctors "surprise".

" DOCTOR! What's happening?" Clara shouted, trying to hold on to the railing.

"The TARDIS is experiencing a bit of turbulence," the Doctor shouted back. He attempted in vain to reset the course back to his destination. There was a brief moment when the TARDIS stopped shaking.

"You were saying?" Clara said, glaring pointedly at him. Before he could answer, the TARDIS plummeted them down in a sudden drop. Clara screamed while the doctor shouted

"GERONIMO!"
