Disclaimer: I don't own Grissom or Sara, yada yada yada. You know the drill.
Rated: K+
Summary: Sara anxiously awaits Grissom's arrival at the airport.
A/N: This is a response to the 70s Cheesy Songs Fanfic Challenge at GSRForeverOnline. Choose a song from the list given and write a drabble or ficlet. Must include song title or line from the song. The option I chose for this story is ficlet and the song I chose is "I feel the earth move" by Carole King. As always this story is not beta'd so any and all mistakes are mine. Hope you enjoy it.
Flight 1223
.
.
I nearly jump out of my skin with surprise as I feel a hand take hold of mine and gently squeeze it. "Relax dear. He'll be here soon." She signs to me. I think the words are just as much meant to reassure her as they are meant to reassure me, for I can see she is just as excited as I am with the anticipation of Gil's arrival.
This is it. No more monthly visits, no more daily video chats, no more sleeping alone. He's home for good having taken a teaching position at the University.
"Flight 1223 from Peru is now arriving at gate four. Flight 1223 now arriving." I feel my heart start to trembling as I hear the announcement.
"HE'S HERE BETTY~ HE'S HERE!" I sign excitedly, shouting. I know my emotions are something I just can't tame at the moment. I'm as giddy as a school girl and I don't care if I make a scene in front of all these people or not.
The gate opens up and passengers from the plane begin to fill the airport. I stand on my toes, stretching as tall as I can, craning my neck as I look for Gil in the sea of people. Suddenly I spot him and I just lose control.
"THERE HE IS! THERE HE IS!" I grip Betty's hands as I begin jumping up and down. Gil spots us and waves his hand above the crowd. Its no surprise he was able to find up so easily. I'm the only one jumping up and down like a fool. I feel the earth move under my feet as I sprint through the crowd towards my husband, unable to hold back any longer.
"OOF!" Gil gasps as I leap into his arms and wrap my arms around his neck tightly. "Happy to see me are yo…" Gil doesn't have the chance to finish his sentence as I cut him off with a big kiss.
"I take that as a yes?" he chuckles breathlessly when we finally part a moment later. "and there's more where that came from later." I whisper in his ear. A big smile spreads across his face as we look into each other's eyes.
*WHISTLE*
"Hey, don't I get a hug here? I only went through 27 hrs. of labor to bring you into this world after all."
"I thought it was seven?" Gil asks.
"Well it felt like 27"
I smile deeply as Gil bends over slightly to give his mother a hug.
"Now then" Gil stands back up and takes each of us by hand and begins to head off to collect his luggage, "I do believe I owe my two favorite women a dinner" he says towards his mother so she can read his lips, then he turns to face me and whispers "and a little private desert with my wife afterwards."
