Shadows twist and writhe around us.
They flit about in the dim moonlight. The flesh of the crowd slowly dissolves about us. They become wraiths and now, he and I are alone.
Still we dance; the music visible in a kaleidoscope of colors sparkling and shimmering overhead. His warm hand touches the small of my back, bare in the dress I am wearing. He steps closer and dances closer still, his hips flush to mine
His soft pink lips kiss my bare shoulder and I shiver. He looks up at me, his eyes the only point of light in the dimming room. I take his hand and we go back to the dancing crowd.
The music becomes softer. A love song...
Couples pass about us, swaying, grinding and bumping
Some are waltzing on the fringes of the crowd.
My arms drape about his neck casually and my thin silk dress is attracted to his clothes.
The music ends...yet the shadows still flit. The keening calls of couples parted for the night ring through the thick and sweaty air. He kisses the inside of my palm and drops me off on the front steps of my cozy home.
I smile softly. My first dance... I sigh and walk slowly up to my room. My feet aching and my silk dress all clingy. I sit in front of the window of my bedroom watching the street below and smile..
Ah a beautiful night...
