I tried to write something for Jin and this came out.

It's hard to explain what a person's wind feels like to people who've never experienced it. He's tried to explain it to Touya, multiple times, and the guy really does try to get it but there's just bits and pieces lacking in his experiences. He's never played with the wind. He considers it a thing, not a friend.

He used to think that everyone felt the same way about their elements, but they don't. He's asked. It depends on the element, and no one feels the same.

It's sometimes lonely, but mostly he just enjoys it.

It occurs to him that Kurama would probably relate best, because his plants are living things, and he makes a mental note to have that conversation later. Hiei definitely has a more emotional connection to his powers, but Hiei's power is also fueled by death and darkness and there's really no comparison. Bad thought to even approach him about the subject. They wouldn't agree.

Touya views his ice as an object. It's a tool he uses to fight, and that's almost it. Not quite, because ice is as much a part of Touya as air is a part of Jin.

It's not the same, though.

(He once thought of what would have happened if his younger, more childish self had ever tried asking Risho. The response this thought elicited was somewhere between a laugh and a groan.)

Wind has qualities that can't be put to paper. It's not something he muses on frequently. He lives in the moment; he is air. It's just something that makes him a little sad sometimes.

Mostly? He just flies.
