Her Absence
A Lenni & Bekki Story
"I wonder what that whore in Aussieland is up to..." Lenni wondered idly, swinging on a chair. She pulled her phone from her pocket and studied the screen, chewing on her lip. She sighed heavily, sounding burdened, and started slowly typing a text message: I miss...
Meanwhile, in Aussieland...
Bekki stared at the AIM buddy list desolately, a whimper escaped her and her eyes filled with tears at the absence of her love, "Has it been two weeks yet?" she asked her empty room again. No, answered the voice in her head that sounded like Lenni but wasn't. Not even close, you whore. She sighed heavily and played with her emoing razor, typing up some depressingly emo poetry.
"Huh... what rhymes with longing? ...belonging... yeah, that's awesome." She was jolted from her emocity with the familiar tone that meant she'd just received a message. She sighed again, tears pricking her eyes as she talked herself down from the instant thought of 'Maybe it's Lenni!!11one', reminding herself that she got about five messages a day telling her pointless things that had absolutely nothing to do with her love.
"HOLY FUCKING GOD IT'S LENNI!" she exclaimed and promptly burst into tears. She sat trembling on her seat, grinning like an idiot through her tears of joy as she typed a hyper response of love and devotion.
Lenni saw the loving message and hurled her phone far away from herself, as if fleeing the clinginess of the insane Australian. "Damn that whore, why can't she just accept our relationship as only physical?!" she said, despite being straight and never having met Bekki in real life.
Bekki waited for a response with bated breath, staring and staring at her phone for several hours while her stomach rumbled and her eyes dimmed from their bright vigil. "She's not gonna reply..." she whispered miserably, "...It's all my fault."
Clicking on Lenni's name in her phone, Bekki pressed call and waited, the phone pressed to her ear as she listened intently for the sweet sound of Lenni's voice. "Christ, even the voicemail just please don't..."
Tears trembled in her eyes as the call beeped and cut out, falling in clear lines down her cheeks as she heart broke in two. "Sh-she doesn't... love meh!" Bekki wailed, throwing herself onto the huge pile of clothes that prevented her from reaching her bed.
"Lenni, have you seen the phone? I thought I heard it ring," Lenni's Mum said.
"Uh, no, that was me... I was ringing... for an unknown reason," Lenni said, looking guilty. "Look! A lemming!" she shouted, pointing out the window before screaming hysterically. Utterly confused, Lenni's Mum vanished in a puff of smoke from this brief fanfic, and Lenni escaped into the room she had been in when she threw the phone, recovering it to find the missed call.
Lenni texted 'Call again' impatiently, receiving only a one word message in return: 'suicide.' She rolled her eyes and yelled at Bekki in text form to call... but though she stayed up as late as she used to, she received no response.
The End.
