I Can't Wait...

Dear Mommy and Daddy,
It's me. Your little girl. I just want you to know, I've been a good girl. I hope you guys are alright, and will be home soon. It's really lonely here without you guys. Please be extra careful out there. I don't want you guys to get hurt...Auntie Pinako has been fun, and she's taught me all kinds of new things. Yesterday, she let me help her in the attic. I don't know what she was doing, but it looked fun! I wish you could come home and see what I've made for you. Me, Edward, and Alphonse have put a lot of time into it. I won't tell you what it is, it's a secret. I hope you like it! Be careful out there, Mommy and Daddy. I love you.
Love,
Winry
Graceful hands flew over the paper, and folded it in half. Those same hands slid the folded paper into an envelope, and closed it shut. A sticker was placed in the corner on the back, and a stamp was placed over the sticker. She withdrew the pen from it's post once again, and wrote their names.
"It's been two months now..." she said. "Since they were gone. I can't wait for their reply!"
"Winry, dear! Can I get some help?" said a voice from the basement. Winry stood. "Sure, Auntie Pinako!" Winry left the letter on the table, and skipped down the stairs. "Winry, the wrench I need is over there, but I can't just drop what I'm doing. Can you get it for me, sweetie?" Winry nodded. "What're you doing upstairs? I could use you for some reparing down here." Winry looked up. "I'm writing at letter to mom and dad!"
Pinako smiled. "Good, good. Well, then, go put it in the mailbox (Uhh...mailbox?)." With that, Winry smiled again, and nodded, running up the stairs. She picked the letter up, and hugged it.
Just then, the phone rang. Winry rushed over to it, hoping it was Edward or Alphonse. She was starting to get lonely. She picked it up. "Hello?" she asked merrily. "Is this the Rockbell residence?" asked a voice over the phone. "Yes, may I ask who is speaking?"
"I'm terribly sorry to report...the Rockbells were reported dead last night. I'm sorry..."
The world shut down. The phone fell to the floor. Winry Rockbell's eyes widened with sorrow, greif, misery, and pain. Her dreams had just ended. She fell to the floor, crying, bawling her eyes out. Pinako heard this, and ran upstairs. "Winry, what's the matter?" she said, hugging her.
"M-mo-mom and d-dad...they---" she choked on tears. Winry was so broken, she couldn't speak. Pinako knew then what had happened. She picked Winry up, and carried her to a chair. Winry looked up from her hands, which her face was currently buried in, and glared at the letter. She took it in her hands. This time, she didn't hug it...she ripped it to shreds.
Her head looked down, and she dove her face into her hands once again.
"I can't wait for their reply..." she whispered. "but I'll have to wait a long time now..."

It starts out happy, and gets sad, I suppose. I dunno, tell me what you think! R&R.
