Major Houlahan was having dinner with General Stevens. They were at an exclusive restaurant in Tokyo that was frequented by the top military brass. The two of them sat at a booth in the back, away from most of the other diners.

They were dressed in civilian clothes. Margret wore a frilly white dress, while the general wore a black tuxedo. The dress was a gift to her from him.

"Margret, my dear, I have a very special gift for you."

"Oh, but you've given me so many things already, darling."

"Well, as I said, this one is SPECIAL!"

"Oh, well in that case!"

From his pocket, he produced a jewelry case, which he gave to her. She opened it.

It was a gold ring.

"It's beautiful, darling! Thank you so much! She kissed him.

"Now, as I said, this is a special ring. It is not to be worn on your hands."

This surprised her. "Then, where shall I wear it?"

"On your pretty foot!"

"MY FOOT?! Whatever reason for?"

"So that only you and I will know where it is."

"Ah, then your wife will never suspect!"

"Exactly!"

"I normally don't take my shoes off in a restaurant, but. . . "

She quickly took her right shoe and stocking off. Then she gave him back the ring.

"You may put this on, kind sir."

She put her foot in his lap, and he put the ring on her middle toe.

"The perfect place for it!"

"Thank you, darling!"

She kept her foot in his lap until their meal was finished.

She spent the night with him. Very early, the ext morning, he discretely took her back to her hotel.

"I need to get this ring off, in case Frank sees it," she said to herself.

She took her shoe and stocking off and tried to pull the ring off, but it wouldn't come off of her toe.

She cursed so loudly, she woke up the couple in the adjacent room!
