"Jaffray please don't cry" Jerome cooed, cradling Mara's face in his hands as tears spilled down her cheeks, "the end of Anubis doesn't have to mean the end of us."

"Jerome we'll be so far away. I just can't do it. I love you." She placed a gentle kiss to his lips and stepped into the black cab.

That was the last time Jerome saw Mara Jaffray.

5 years later:

"Belinda, go run 20 copies of last month's issue, William will not rest until he has satisfied every person on the streets of London," Mara waves her assistant away. She say at her desk, brainstorming themes for November's issue of "The Jackal". Yes, after college, Mara Jaffray pursued journalism, and now, she was head of one of the most famous magazines in England, "The Jackal". Oddly enough, everyone from Anubis ended up working her, well, almost everyone. Fabian Rutter edited the magazine. After all the material was put together, Fabian would go over it and fix any mistakes. Joy Mercer was the field reporter (is that a real job? Oh well. It is now). She scoured the streets for a scoop, and interviewed the public. Patricia Williamson was the photographer. Eddie Miller, or Edison Sweet, was in charge of the sports column. Lastly, Mara, along with her team of journalists, wrote the articles.

Nina, KT, and Mick weren't heard from since high school. Neither was Jerome Clarke, but Mara led a perfectly happy life without him. He had told her that cell phones were a big "no no" in his college, and he was only allowed an hour a week to use them. He said it was so that "they could receive a full learning experience". So, Mara took to writing. She wrote letters upon letters to him, but he didn't reply to a single one. Eventually, Mara gave up. But she's moved on, and she couldn't be happier.
