This takes place after 'Walk Like A Man'. I was watching ER reruns on TNT and I had to write something after I saw the episode. I haven't written Carby fanfic for a really long time. This is sorta stupid, but I felt like writing so I did and this is what came out. Just a little scene for those Carby people out there with my own little ending 

Surprise

"We're right here," Abby said, searching his eyes. She tried pushing the noise of the train far from her mind and focused on his eyes…his smile.

"I'm sorry," Carter apologized. Abby shook her head and covered his lips with her trembling finger.

"We're okay. That's all that matters," she whispered. Carter stepped a stair higher. He dropped his suitcase and coat on the cement ground. His eyes didn't leave hers. He'd never really walk away from her. He never could. He knew what it was like being alone. He couldn't bear to let her go through the same.

It was hard for him, his drug problem. Balancing work and life was like trying to make an elephant equal balance to a single mouse. He was cared. He couldn't control his addiction. He wasn't going to let Abby down.

"What are you thinking about?" Abby asked. "You have that 'I'm thinking' expression plastered across your face." She placed her hand behind his neck and messaged it. She could feel how tense his muscles were.

"You. I'm always thinking about you," he sighed, smiling devilishly, lowering his hands to the small of her back.

"Oh, what a line!" Abby laughed. Carter rolled his eyes and slowly pulled Abby closer.

"I'm here. I'm just trying to help," he said. Abby's smile fell. She looked down at her toes. Trying to help what? What does he see in her? Does he really see her romantically or just another patient that needs mending? Well, she wasn't.

"Carter, I'm fine. Really. I'm glad you're concerned, but please, stop. Stop - " She gasped. Before she could finish, he grabbed the moment to kiss her.

"I'll stop," he promised. His hands slid up her spine. Abby nodded and dropped the subject. They kissed again, slowly, milking each one for all its worth.

"Maybe we should go inside," she whispered in his ear when he was buried in her neck. Continuing to kiss her, Carter searched her pockets for the keys and pulled them out. He finally looked up and unlocked the door. Abby was well into her kisses when they stepped inside. A new feeling rose inside of her, filling her up. She liked that feeling and wanted to keep giving it the fuel.

"Um, I hope I'm not interrupting anyone," a man's voice said. Abby and Carter pushed away each other quickly. Eric stood rocking on the balls of his feet. Abby glanced away in embarrassment.

"What are you doing here?" Carter asked firmly.

"I thought you were supposed to be in Offutt," Abby added. Eric shrugged.

"Surprise."
