Our first and third,
Have washed away,
And those of us remaining
Have been left astray.
I am the second,
I'm in between,
Beside me I look,
But they can't be seen.
Without these brilliant men,
It's like all hope is gone,
Although for the sake of my crew,
I have to live on.
I have to stand tall,
Make sure we're all still free,
For if they see me fall,
They'll all follow me.
We're are all unstable,
Aimlessly swinging back and forth,
Wandering in circles without purpose,
When we should be heading north.
And they all seem to look up to me,
I suppose I'm next in line,
To take my fathers name in hand,
The next decision's mine.
But it's never going to be the same,
We'll have to start anew,
Eventually we'll grow again,
For now we must make do.
First and foremost,
My family are afraid,
We've all lost a father,
And his comforting aid.
Now I'm here instead,
But I struggle to explain,
That everything's going to be okay,
For I equally share their pain.
Because if I myself can not hold together,
Unfit as captain I condemn,
How do I bring hope to hundreds?
How can I expect it from them?
It's like a massive hole,
Has teared through my chest,
It's ripped my life apart,
And refused to let me rest.
And for the first time in forever,
My flames can lend no aid,
Though this wound may kill me,
And of others I am not afraid.
As for my father's loyal crew,
I expect it is the same,
They are suffering as much as I,
No matter what they claim.
I can see them turn away,
When their tears begin to brim,
I watch them shiver, cold inside,
When the world feels too grim.
And this mental wound can not be healed,
By any known medical potion,
We can only let it scab with time,
To slowly calm this terrible emotion.
And though we may try cover it up,
We shall always have these scars,
But to gladden the others around us,
Our emotions will hide behind bars.
But if we simply hide our pain,
No further we shall travel,
But there is another method,
For our sadness to unravel.
For I always try to do it myself,
But one person can't mend this hole,
We have to lean on one another,
Sew it together as a whole.
Step forward we must together,
And leave those gone behind,
Never will we forget them,
New happiness we must find.
Well, I haven't updated in a little while, so I decided to post this one up for you all while I work on those requests! I hope you enjoyed that, it feels a bit rusty, but that might be because I wrote it a while ago.
And again, please do leave a review, I would love to hear what you thought!
