Part 1 - Lessons from Luna.
Harry woke up, dragged Ron, who was snoring loudly, out of bed and proceeded to the Great Hall for breakfast. It was Saturday, and Hermione had given them a day free of homework, so they were planning on what to do with their time.
"Well, we could always go to the library," Hermione coaxed. "Maybe you two could read 'Hogwarts - a History'. Then I wouldn't have to correct you all the time, would I?"
"Ha ha, very funny," smiled Harry sarcastically. "You're not going to makeany morespew hats then?"
Hermione looked disgruntled, and slightly suspicious, and raised an eyebrow.
"No actually, I seem to have mislaid my knitting needles. Have you two got any idea where-"
"Ow bout gizzards bests?" spat Ron, through a mouthful of bacon.
Hermione, who looked more than a little disgusted, queried "What on earth?"
Ron swallowed. "Wizards chess, or exploding snap maybe?"
"Um . . ." Hermione was interrupted when 3 identical red envelopes landed on the table in front of them. Ron, who assumed they were howlers, picked up his plate and tried to use it as a shield for his head, spilling bacon and eggs all down his pyjamas.
Hermione gave him a withering look and turned to Harry, who, realising that howlers weren't covered in purple glitter, had opened and read his.
"How odd," said Hermione "what could she want?"
"Dunno," said Harry. "But it has to be better that 'Hogwarts – a history'."
Harry, Ron and Hermione approached the room of requirement, all curious as to why their company had been requested.
Harry gripped the door handle and twisted the knob. The three were instantly engulfed in a cloud of sweet, flowery smelling smoke, and they stepped blindly into the room.
It was a large circular room, with deep cerise walls, which, to Harry's dismay, he found quite alluring. Sitting amidst a pile of red velvet cushions on a bed of black satin, was Luna.
"Hi." She said, quite dopily.
"Luna . . . what are you doing here?" Hermione asked?
"Well, I was depressed earlier, so I came up here to find something to cheer me up, and this is what was in here when I opened the door. Those letters I sent you were in here and everything."
"Oh Luna-"
Luna sighed. "I thought you might not approve Hermione. It's ok; you can leave if you want."
"Oh no!" said Hermione. "I . . . I think it's quite a good idea actually." She said mischievously, her voice quivering slightly.
"What's a good idea –?" Ron started, but Hermione carried on.
"I mean, some of these books could be quite . . . educational." She giggled. Ron, who was still unaware what everyone was talking about, approached the rosewood bookcase. Harry could see his ears turning puce, and suppressed his laughter, while taking off his glasses and wiping them in his sleeve. They seemed to be fogging up for some wierd reason.
Ron, looking flabbergasted, and maroon in the face, sat on the end of the bed, staring at the door.
"Oh, if you think those books are impressive, you should see what's in that wardrobe." Said Luna, darkly.
Harry, who was curious, and sick of standing in front of the door like an idiot, walked over to the wardrobe and opened the door.
"What the hell is this for? Oh, oh."
Harry backed away, and sat next to Ron, who seemed to be as maroon as ever, but who had developed a pixie-like glint in his eye.
"What d'you think mate?" he asked, smirking. "Much better than 'Hogwarts; a history' I reckon."
Note - What do you think guys? I have some more of this to post shortly :)
