You wait.
Five minutes. An hour. A day. A year
A decade.
Time slowed, pressing downoverthrough
suffocating.
But you believe
in him-
-in light in dark in stars-
You wait.
Lights dim down,
sounds fade out,
hearts beat two- to- one.
All of time and space were never enough.
Waiting minutesdaysmonthsyears
-somewhere a clock is ticking-
heard the sound of him yesterday and
ran
only to see him slip
away.
Leaving is better than staying,
he says
Because you're still breathing,
he says
Because you love him, you hate him you want you wish you
left.
He left, you left- together.
But you're still breathing.
The sound of good-bye feels like hello-
he has swallowed me whole.

Galaxies die and yet he stays the same.
You stop waiting.
Time slips further away,
Your laugh sounds like tears.
I wrote this in a fit of madness after watching Amy leave. She'll be back. The Doctor and Amy's departure was by far my favorite "good-bye" of the new series- it was so mature. Long live Amelia Pond. Long live Amy Williams. Reviewers recieve hugs and fish sticks and custard.
