It's not like it would last forever, he slid his eyes closed, nothing ever did after all. People either died, or they left, it was the way of the world. The world would keep spinning beneath him, he wasn't nearly important enough to make it stop, wasn't nearly important enough to make. them. stay. It was really quite suicidal trying to figure it all out, or maybe it was just he'd commit the sin if he ever did begin to figure it out. He was supposed to be used to this, everyone dying, leaving. It's like, no matter what he did, no matter how hard he fought against himself and his horrid luck, they'd see through to some horrible monster and run screaming. What had he done?
He stood up, moving to the other frozen in time figure, knowing how they suffered through like him. But it was his entire fault; he'd taken her away, away from him, though she'd really just taken him. He'd fucked her; he'd gotten her pregnant, but he wasn't sure if he'd ever love her like he did…
"Jonathan," His arms wrapped around the small figure of his friend, burying his face in between those familiar bony shoulder blades. No response but a slight tensing, he didn't know how to finish the statement. "Jonathan…"
"Clare, she's never coming back," Jonathan sighed, staring intensely out of the window, like that would ever bring their falsely happy family together again. A small tear slipped from his eyes, tracing the contours of Jonathan's spine. He had all the right in the world to hate him, he had hated him. But not now, now they were all there was left.
"I'm sorry," Another tensing, another relaxing. "I'm so sorry."
