The sun was beautiful, EMIYA thought.
I am the bone of my sword
The sky filled with rusty gears parted, revealing the sight that he had long been denied.
The bloody, desolate sand on his feet hardened and turned into fine loam. Patches of grass sprouted into life, the swords embedded into the ground dissipating into golden motes of light. For the first - and the last - time, EMIYA felt happy.
It wasn't wrong to die for your ideals.
Unlimited Blade Works, his reality marble and the only thing that he could truly call his, was deteriorating.
His soul was being cleansed by the Root. Alaya's contract was null and void. Soon enough, his soul would return to the cycle of reincarnation. Never again would he have to betray his own ideals. Never again would he see the disappointed smiles of a golden girl and a girl in red. Never again would he see the red-eyed girl clad in the Dress of Heaven.
Be happy, Archer. Okay?
Hah, I'll do my best from now on, Rin.
A stray thought entered EMIYA's mind. Who would play the part of the nameless Archer in the infinite incarnations of the Fifth Holy Grail war, now that the Counter Guardian EMIYA no longer existed?

"Heed my words."
The two heroes stilled.
"My will creates your body, and your sword creates my destiny."
One glanced at her with shock.
"If you heed the Grail's call and obey my will and reason..."
The other, with unbridled fury.
"Then answer me!"
The shock vanished. The hero broke into a desperate sprint.
"Do so and I shall entrust my destiny to your sword!"
The command seals on her hand, dull a few moments ago, shone red with new power. The bond was there. The contract between Master and Servant bound their destinies together.
Together, they would win. Or together, they would fall.
"... On my honor as a hero, I shall swear your oath -"

Servant Matrix
??? error 404 - servant not found

Hey guys. Eren here.
It's been a long time since I've had the motivation to write anything. But I'm here. At the insistence of the one person that I'm dedicating this to, I'm putting this modest work out for you to read. This is nothing but a prologue, the next chapters will be longer.
At the top of every chapter, you'll see a song. It's up to you if you want to listen to them, but they're the songs that I listened to when I wrote each respective chapter. As per tradition, a Servant Matrix is found at the end of every chapter.
With that said, I leave this book to you. Beware of unreliable narrators and shifting protagonists. Updates come only on Wednesdays starting on May 1, 2019. Regular chapters are guaranteed as long as my supply lasts. smiles
