A/N: Okay, I got inspired to write an AkaKuro fanfic.
Ahem, me and my lazy self, *cough*
Based on the song, Sarishinohara.
(Post Winter Cup)
"Hyaa! We won! Alright!" The team members of Seirin shouted together in triumph. The crowd cheered along, sharing the happiness with the victors. The losing team, Rakuzan, however, were not smiling. Kotaro Hayama, the small forward of the former king team, scoffed. "How could a new team just beat us, the strongest and oldest king, the emperor of creation, Rakuzan?" He raised a fist.
"Tetsuya.." Akashi mumbled under his breath, tears falling from his left eye. He looked up to see his former teammate and the phantom sixth man of Seirin High, smiling along with everybody on his team.
He must've noticed, because as soon as the teal-haired man's gaze fell upon the scarlet-haired captain of Rakuzan, his smile faded away, slowly.
Kuroko..
"Excuse me," The red-haired teen told his teammates. "I'll be out for a little while. Please tell coach."
"Ah, okay. Just be back before we go." Reo Mibuchi, the shooting guard, muttered coldly, crossing his arms.
"Thanks."
"Oi, Kuroko, what's wrong?" Teppei Kiyoshi, the tallest player in Seirin asked. Upon hearing these words, Akashi stood up, and slowly exited the court. Kuroko could not help but feel bad for his former captain and decided to go after him.
"It's nothing, Kiyoshi-senpai. Excuse me."
The wind blew gently, slightly moving Akashi's red strands of hair across his face. Clenching his fists, he thought of all the moments in basketball he had.
I.. never lose.. Never.
"Akashi-kun?" A small voice managed to speak behind him. Akashi didn't dare turn around, as he just stared at the beautiful sunset in front of him. Speaking with a teammate that just beat him.. It feels different. Kuroko, noticing that his former captain did not bother to face him, scooted over beside him a little bit.
"Tetsuya, what are you thinking of?"
Puzzled, Kuroko turned to face Akashi's heterochromatic orbs staring at his light blue ones intently. His beautiful yellow and red eyes shimmered in the sunset, and it reminds Kuroko of summer.
"What am I thinking of?" Kuroko asked himself, turning the watch the soft pastel sky. "Akashi-kun.. Do you.. resent me for beating you in the game?" He fiddled his thumbs, keeping his expression as calm as possible. Many people think he's very emotionless, but they're wrong, as the smaller teen's expressions were rampaging inside his head, wanting to be out.
Akashi chuckled. "Why would I resent you, Tetsuya? You taught me a valuable lesson." He whispered, grabbing ahold of the expressionless boy's warm hands, smiling gently, different from his other smiles.
Kuroko blushed slightly, turning his head to the opposite direction so that Akashi wouldn't see his blushing face. His hands were getting sweatier by the minute his captain was inching closer and closer. Seeing the smaller boy's face, the captain of Rakuzan inched closer, pulling his phantom sixth man into a tight embrace. Kuroko could feel his face burn, and he wanted to let all of his emotions out, but remain still, stunned at what Akashi was doing. Slowly, he returned the embrace and pulled Akashi even closer.
"Tetsuya.." Kuroko shivered from the feel of Akashi's whisper in his ear. "Thank you.. for always being there for me.."
"Akashi-ku-"
Soft, warm, tender lips pressed against Kuroko's, silencing him, and a hand pressed his head deeper into the kiss. The phantom hooked his arms around his captain's neck, until both of them broke it, gasping for air.
"Akashi-kun," Kuroko stared into Akashi's multicolored orbs.
"Remember that I'm always there for you, no matter how small my presence would be." He locked him into a hug, and Akashi smiled in happiness.
"Thank you for being my shadow."
Me: Hmm… Cliché. *throws away this fic*
