My Day to Shine

Rated: G

I looked up into his eyes and I knew I would be safe from the world, from being a super hero for a day, from being klutzy as usual, because this was my wedding day. My day to shine, my day for him to become mine always. The distant voice of the pastor, which would like I heard it from miles away, because I turned all spacy looking into his blue eyes, 'You may kiss the bride. '

He leaned towards me and I knew this would be the beginning of my new life with my love. At least I'm not choking, at least not yet. Our lips touched and the kiss was sweet and tender like never before, filled with a growing happiness and anxiety.

As we parted, we continued staring into each others eyes. His deep cerulean eyes took me in that I couldn't hear the shouts of joy arising from inside the chapel. I couldn't even hear the pastor continue on with the end of our wedding ceremony. It seemed like time just stopped as we stared into each others eyes deeply. I knew that we would be together forever, even through everything we had been through.

A smile began to form on his lips and I just couldn't bare resisting from kissing them again, but I had to! Our ceremony wasn't over yet! I smiled back up at him and our hands twined together, and touched the back of my hands. 'I pronounce you husband and wife.'

We began walking down the steps heading for the door. We continued staring into each others eyes as we walked down the long aisle, decorated with white tulips and roses, and white magnolias and doves flying everywhere. It was a beautiful sight seeing that my newly-wedded husband was, too, in this gorgeous scene. I silently hoped I would not trip because people who know me really well know that I can trip a little too easily.

Surprisingly enough, as we reached the doorway, everyone followed us but it all turned into slow motion. He kissed me lightly at the door and I turned around to throw by bouquet. The temporary leader of the sailor scouts caught it. Of course, practically my twin she is.

All of my fellow friends were my bridesmaids. Of course, my future daughter ended up being the flower girl. My new husband swung me into his arms and began carrying me to our horse-drawn carriage. I waved to all of my friends. This was my day of enjoyment and wonder.

This was a day of happiness and marriage. This was the day when I finally married the love of my life. This was my day to shine.
