Lie to Me

She stood in front of it, kicking away the broken pieces of wood and scattered rocks. The sky held a peculiar sort of haze, one that she couldn't see through. All that was visible was the wreck in front of her. The wreck that had once been comfort. The wreck that had once been the way home. The wreck that had once been the well.

"I can help you," he says as he harshly grabs her arm. "Just let me help you." She studies his face with a frightened face; she was never good at hiding her emotions. After all, she is just a teenage girl. "I can."

"I know you can," she replies shortly after. "I just don't know what good it would do, Kouga. He'd find me and kill you."

"I knew it from the beginning," he starts rambling. "I should have killed him from the beginning."

Wriggling her arm harshly from his hold she shakes her head. "No. It's not your fault. It's mine. I shouldn't have given him the jewel."

"Don't blame yourself. You didn't know."

"It's my fault I was stupid and naïve," she whispers back. "How could I not blame myself?"

"Do you still love him?"

She says nothing.

She thought it was a bad dream when it happened. Surely it wasn't easy to believe anything that went around her after seeing her friends' bodies falling limp.

"Run," the demon slayer breathed before taking her leave. Her legs went numb and she fell to the ground with a thud and a whimper.

Slowly he turned, grinning. All she wanted to do was reach out to him, run her hands through his stunning hair. All she wanted was the real him, but all she got was someone else. His dark red eyes reminded her of that.

"Yea, Kagome, run," he mocked. Throwing the slayer's body aside, he slowly stalked toward her. "Run."

So she obediently did as he commanded, as she had done so many times before. Her leg's pumped against the ground and she ignored the sharp pain in her side. Her goal was the well. Her goal was nearly impossible to get to.

It wasn't long until he caught up, tackling her down to the ground hard. The wind was knocked out of her and all she could see was black. Her eyes weighed heavy. With a groan, she pleaded. "Don't kill me."

"What's wrong, Kagome? I'm here to protect you, aren't I?" he sadistically said with a grin. "I love you."

She remembers the mockery in his voice and the humor that dripped from his lips. She tried to push him away, but her strength didn't even compare. He just pushed back, causing her to loose more air.

"Please don't kill me."

"I'm not going to kill you."

"Are you going to hurt me?"

"Do you want me to lie?"

Just a little something. I don't know if I want to go anywhere with this.
