Stage One – Alphonse Hansen
"I never wanted to be the person I am today, just give me a chance to change"
All of Alphonse's Life he could only remember being by himself in the shaggy neighborhood he grew up in alone. No one in his little coastal town could ever remember his parents nor tell him what kind of people they were. Only that they were travelers and left their only child behind for the world. Along the years Alphonse grew up with manners and into a nice 14-year old boy with no desire of war or fighting, only to gaze up into the sky and make abstract art in his mind. On the day of November 12th, 1912 at exactly 12:12pm something in his life changed forever.
It wasn't noticeable but he recognized it after a few times. Running his usually errands of finding a place to sit and stay and act nice he kept a good eye out on the town folks. Someone was new, he could tell but whom? Was it near the post office or near the grocery store? Then he began to see it. At the exit and entrance of the town a man he saw would appear. He was a shady Indian with no special features. He wore those Indian hats laced all around with feathers tipped in red. His skin darkened to a dark hazel color and his bare chest and face painted with red streaks of red. Did Indians really live near this close to town? Why had he not ever seen them? Were his people angry with us? All those questions poured into his mind as he stood watching the people around him point and gossip at who he was looking for. Alphonse noticed something. The Indian was looking at HIM. Him and him alone. As soon as he realized this the Indian vanished. This shocked him and someone from the crowd hollered. Twirling around his face met up with the tip of a sharp sword. "GAAH!" Alphonse hollered out and jumped backwards. The Indian had someone come to him in a mere second. He chuckled, "Your wits are good but is your mind as well?" This man was already funny. Talking in riddles, while everyone watched him. "I have decided," He went on, "You shall be my new lackey!" Then he busted out with hollers of laughter and joy. Never was Alphonse insulted, nor did he think it was, but that made him seriously angry, "YOU! Who are you! And why have you shown up today!" The Indian once again vanished but only to face Alphonse. "Why? Because today is the day of glory, young spearman, you must learn how to fight and only you and 11 more others can accomplish our goal. "Alphonse moved back, looked around staring at the crowd who stared back, "What are you talking about? Goals? What other 11 people? And why am I one of them!" This was stupid, he began to step back, maybe to make a run for it, but just then, something like a gruesome beast echoed across the valley. Everyone in the town herd it and trembled with fear. Alphonse shuttered and a new feeling began to overwhelm him. The feeling he had to go over there and vanquish the nightly beast that had come to destroy his peace. The Indian chuckled, "Nothing to fear. You people just go about your usual lives...Alphonse, you come with me and we will eliminate the monster down at the valleys... you understand right?" Alphonse nodded, but immediately shook his head, "NO!... I refuse to follow some unknown man! And how do you know my name! If you sound this confident go by yourself!" Instead of the man to continue the argue, he nodded, "I understand. You are too afraid of leaving. You may think they will return but listen. Your parents will never return. Deep down you know this, and yet here you stand mounting your home. A true warrior would follow his heart. Alphonse, tell yourself. What is your heart trying to say to you?" Enough said the man looked back to the exit once the beast had made another loud roar. Not even taking a second glance he raced off leaving Alphonse behind.
