ALL IS FORGOTTEN

Lost in the snow

Praying for some way out knee deep in pain

Huddling in what little comfort she has

Faces of the ones she ha loved guide her through the white oblivion

Some carry her

Many taunt her in her suffering

All the way, the pain grows deeper

With every step she loses hope

She falls to her knees as the tears freeze on her face

She lays down forgetting why sheis even walking this way

All begins to fade

But not before she hears a voice

A strong voice

A quiet voice

A voice that drowns the storm

A voice that takes away the cold

She opens her eyes to the sea

A sight she's never seen

Her body goes numb as she takes it all in

In that moment, nothing more beautiful to her

A sudden warmth brings her to realize she'snot alone

The voice

It's him

He whispers in her ear as tears of relief fall from her face

You're safe he says

I've got you

His arms wrapped around her as they watch the sun set

All snowy thoughts are banished by the tides

All is forgotten...

Until the magic fades

The storm returns

But she's stronger now

She knows now that she can make it

He's waiting for her

Far from this storm

He waits at the shore

She must not give up

The memory of their meeting keeps her warm

Gives her hope

The snow begins to thin and she starts to run

But as she reaches the rock shore she stops.

He's gone.

She falls as she runs toward the sea

Pain crawls up her leg

She cries as the infection sets in

Motionless she stares at the rising sun

A pair of hands pick her up just as the first rays of red light cover her face

To weak to see her rescuer she falls fast asleep

When she awakens her wounds are clean

...And there he is.

Stronger than ever in her eyes

She sits up but he hands her a blanket.

Sleep he says

She smiles and lays back down

She closes her eyes trusting that when she opens them again that the snow will not return

The sound of the waves lull her into a doze

As she finally slips into a deep sleep he kisses her gently on the head

She is safe...

Forever with him she will be safe.
