They say Velka is the goddess of sin and punishment, and is affiliated with crows. The crow at the Undead Asylum transports the "Chosen" Undead to the land of lords, Lordran, to combat the Lord of Cinder, Gwyn. Gwyn, however, had sinned in keeping the first fire lit, and staving off the dark. This is said to have angered Velka, and she sends Undead time and time again to punish the Lords for what they have done. The Chosen Undead's life-span is unending, and will return to fight time and time again, no matter how many times you kill them. This makes the Chosen Undead the ultimate punishment to Gwyn, for Gwyn is stuck in an infinite loop of being killed by a mere Undead time and time again.

Velka is the goddess of sin and punishment. Her followers were banished to Ariamis' painting so they could not threaten the Lords with their magnificent power. The crow represents Velka, and her followers want to ascend to that higher power. Their transformation, however, was stopped between human and crow, leaving them as mindless harpy-beasts. Velka has no control over this painted world because it is disconnected from the real world, and untouched by the gods and Lords.

Velka is the goddess of Sin and Punishment. Velka is truly feared by the Lords, as she is immortal, and they are not. The Lords have sinned, and Velka took notice. She does not appreciate when the commandments of life are broken, and she punishes accordingly. Darkwraith invaders are punished with the Blades of the Darkmoon. Lords are punished with an unending torrent of undead and steel. This makes her the most powerful being, and a force not to be reckoned with.

Velka is the goddess of SIN and PUNISHMENT. The Lords have wronged her. The Lords will not stop wronging her. The Lords have allowed experiments on maidens, as well as her followers. Velka's punishment for the Lords will be painful for them, and joyful for her.

Velka is the goddess of sin and punishment. She has but one follower left. Oswald of Carim is a priest of Velka. He teaches her word like it is the Holy Scripture itself. Velka looks over Oswald, making sure that if the Undead were to kill him, they would be punished greatly. But there is one more follower of Velka. That follower is you, if you choose to be. Will you accept Velka's embrace? Or will you allow yourself punishment time and time again.
