Chapter One- Avenging Holmes
Sherlock's POV
A searing pain burst through my body as the snipers fired. My body hung limp, and the last thing I saw was the face of John staring down at me, yelling.
John's POV
"No!" I yelled, ignoring the red dots dancing across my skin and grabbing the grinning Moriarty. "Nothing left for you to try to kill now so you can save your own skin, so you'd better be really, and I mean really, careful." I sneered, tightening my grip and causing Moriarty to choke. "I go, and I'm sure you'll go with me. So I dare them to fire." I backed out towards the door, Moriarty still gasping for air in my grip.
"Let… me… go…" Moriarty gasped.
"I'm gonna go. But you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to kill you in as many ways as possible." I held up my phone, to reveal the sound recording, still playing. "Now, run and hide, Jim." I smiled evily, before throwing Moriarty to the ground and running out of the door.
Moriarty's POV
"After him! Get that recording!" I croaked, rubbing my neck and gasping as it stung. "We can't let him get to the police." I was more whispering to myself, understanding how badly this could go. I could become an exile! I'd have to escape England somehow, and travel as far away as possible! But John would follow, obviously. What could I do? "Now!" I shouted to drown my thoughts, even though all of my men were already gone.
John's POV
I looked back to see several men running after me, clad in black and firing pistols. But they were just shooting wildly, and the bullets shot around in all directions. I managed to reach the police station, and I burst in, before locking the doors behind me and running into Lestrade's office past a stunned room of Police Officers.
"Ah!" Lestrade smiled. "Sherlock finished the case?"
"Sherlock's dead." I gasped.
"Wh-what?" Lestrade whispered, staring at me.
"He was killed. By Moriarty. And I have evidence. We can put him away for good." Then, John heard gunshots and loud screaming from the other room. Lestrade quickly grabbed John's hand and ran with him to a door. He unlocked it quickly, to reveal a metal staircase. I stumbled up them, listening as Anderson yelled, dying. "Come on!" I yelled in impatience as Lestrade moved quickly in front of me, before we finally reached a small room with a metal door. I stumbled in after Lestrade, and we bolted the door behind us.
"They can't get in. We have this room incase of a nuclear explosion. Now, I'll ring for some reinforcements." Lestrade dug into his pocket and flipped open his phone, to reveal no signal. "How did they do that? We've got this hooked up, the signal should be perfect- they've cut off the phones! We're stuck here."
"What?" I whispered. We would be trapped here, with no sources of food or drink. "What do we do?"
"Well, we can't stay here." Lestrade exclaimed. "There are some more stairs, but they lead directly to the front door."
"We'll have to be quick then." I said, walking towards the door, before I heard several bangs coming from the other side of the door.
"Moriarty's a powerful man." Lestrade murmured, and I nodded in agreement.
We were trapped.
