Disclaimer: Only thing here is the sweet little Amy. I love that name btw.
A/N: Drabblish piece...can't even remember what inspired me to write it. R&R.
"Mommy…Daddy…"
The sound of a little girl's voice. So beautiful, soft, tender, sweet and fragile. The little girl herself is not much different. Beautiful, with her blonde curls dancing around her face like butterflies around a flower. Soft, because she's just a little girl, and little girls are always soft. Tender, with sparkling eyes like the sea in which the sun is fading. Sweet, with the teddy bear's arm she's holding firmly in her hand, pulling it behind her as she walks into the living room. And fragile…she's just a fragile little girl, with hopes and dreams, and fears and nightmares. Nightmares that keep her awake at night.
"Yes sweetie?"
"What's wrong princess?"
Two worried parents. All kinds of thoughts are going through their minds, she can be sick, hurt, sad, scared…all of the above…But as every little girl once in a while, she only had a nightmare. How can she not have nightmares, with parents in law-enforcement? She was just a little girl, but she knew what could happen. She knew that one day, someone could be in front of the door, uncle Horatio, uncle Eric, auntie Alexx maybe, and tell her that mommy and daddy were not coming back. She knew. She had to know. But that didn't mean that it didn't give her nightmares every once in a while. After all, she loved her parents very much.
"I can't sleep."
Smiles appear on the faces of the worried parents. Looking at each other they stand up. Ryan lifts his little girl and she hides her face in his shoulder. Calleigh walks into the bedroom to put the bed back to its normal state. Ryan walks in not much later, with his little girl still in his arms, the teddy bear hanging over his shoulder.
"She fell back asleep." He says smiling.
"She must be tired, we were home late yesterday."
Supporting her head, Ryan put her back in the bed, while Calleigh pulled the blanket over her. He wrapped his arm around her shoulder as they stood back to watch her.
"She's so beautiful." Calleigh sighted.
"How can she not be, she's your daughter."
Calleigh blushed. "Well she's your daughter too."
"Of course she is, unless you have something to tell me?" Ryan smirked.
"Don't tempt me."
They smiled and watched their little girl in silence. She moved and murmured something softly. Too soft for her parents to make out.
"What did you say Amy?" Ryan asked.
"When I grow up I wanna be just like you, mommy." Amy whispered.
Ryan pulled Calleigh closer against him and smiled. Calleigh's face lit up, and a tear leaked down her cheek.
"Thank you honey. But for now, you just stay your sweet little self."
