Ikarishipping Scene #5: Together (Based off the song, I Don't Want to Miss a Thing by: Aerosmith)
Lying in bed peacefully are the two relaxed girl and boy. Yet they can't seem to leave each other's presences unless something is holding them together…
She just wanted to hug him tightly, and she did. She wrapped her arms around his neck, placed her chin on his shoulder, and pressed herself against him gently, yet affectionately.
It was nearly two in the morning as they lied next to each other. A mahogany-tinted quilt covered them, but she couldn't sleep. When her face touched his, he stirred.
"What's up?" He asked sleepily, lifting his head trying to make eye contact.
"Nothing… just loving you…" She softly responded.
He smiled weakly, his eyes halfway closed. "Some things never change… same with you…"
She smiled back. "I hoped so… do you think we'll be like this forever?"
"Not only do I think that…" He laid flat on his back. "I'll make sure of it."
She positioned herself so her upper body touched his, bending her knees slightly up as her legs dangled to the other side of the bed. With that, their lips were almost touching, the edges of them beckoning to each other.
"Do you promise?" She asked, inhaling his sweet breath and scent.
"I promise." His voice choked up some, making his voice seem even deeper than it already was. He felt her stomach go up and down as she inhaled and exhaled.
"Do you want me to let you sleep?" She asked sitting up.
"I'll only sleep if you're right here." He patted the space next to him with his hand.
She smiled and lied down upon that spot. When he gazed into his piercing yet loving eyes, she felt herself dozing off.
He watched her blue eyes close slowly, then opens, then close fully. Her smile that never got old reappeared on her face as she dreamed. He wondered to himself if she was seeing him, or something that was related to him.
He saw her lips quiver, but that smile soon appear once more. Their hands never left each other, their grips tightening on one another as the slow memorable night went on.
She shifted closer to him, burying her face in his chest, her forehead resting on his collarbone.
His eyes averted to the slight glimpse of her relaxed eyes, to the moonless night that winter. A small smile appeared on his face as he tightened the hold on her, making her feel warm and protected. When he closed his eyes, she slowly opened hers.
She began wondering how she got into the pose she was in… and how she never wanted to leave it. She snuggled even closer to him, wiggling her fingers in their enclosed hands.
As they drifted to sleep, the grip on their hands loosened, but never let go. Despite the below freezing temperature out in the snowy night, inside the small bedroom, the two were greeted by an abundance of warmth and everlasting love.
