What We Know And What We Think We Know

People think they know something about something. Maybe they do. Maybe they don't. I know for sure some people do, including me.

My name is Jocelyn Auguste, and I'm a hunter. I search out supernatural things, evil things, and kill them. I'm not insane, I can assure you. There are things out there that many don't know about or believe. They are the lucky ones. I'll kill anything from corporeal creatures, such as vampires or zombies, to spirits, such as the common ghost or even a poltergeist. Although, I have to admit, I have a knack for killing Werewolves.

The werewolves I'm talking about are not like the ones you would see in the movies. No, this is not another Lon Cheney remake. The full on fur-face wolfman is just myth. A real werewolf stays in his or her human form, the only difference is they are animalistic, have claws, and have razor-sharp teeth. It's true that they transform on the nights of the full moon, along with the days before and after. It's all a part of the 28 day lunar cycle. Another fact is that there is no cure and the only way to kill them, along with any other shapeshifter of any kind, is a silver bullet to the heart.

There are others like me, other hunters. This isn't isn't exactly a job you just join like you do the Marines. Usually, like the rest of us, something bad has to happen to you that have to do with the unnatural. And with the pain comes with the longing for revenge, the need for it. It is not a job I'd wish on anybody, the things I've seen.

I, personally, know quite a bit of hunters like me. I'm close with a few, but I mainly travel with two. Two boys, two brothers. The Winchesters. I used to say I had no family, but then they came along and changed all that.

I started out a lone freak seeking revenge, and ended with a new family. A family with Sam and Dean Winchester.

This is our story.
