The Dorky Kid
-Electrostar's View of Prowl-
Electrostar thought he was a dorky kid. So what if he was a bit older than her? He was gangly because he hadn't grown into himself, although she couldn't say too much, since she had a problem with her spikes that flopped slightly because they were still too large.
He was awkward around everyone except what seemed to be his best friend. It amused her to no end to watch the outgoing short mech chatter and laugh with the lanky and self-conscious youngling.
"So I said, 'You've got to be kidding me, that's got to be a recording. That's too good for a little one like you.' She just grinned and reminded me she was in my class. Boy did I stick my pede in my mouth," Jazz snickered, "What about you, what did you do yesterday, Prowler?"
Prowl winced slightly at the name, still apparently unused to it, "I played with one of the logic controlled games on my tablet."
Star's spikes perked slightly. Logic games? He liked playing logic games?
"And your homework?" Jazz continued.
"I had none."
"Of course ya didn't Prowler," Jazz grinned, "My place after school?"
"I will have to message my parents…"
"C'mon, I still need a bit of help with the trigonometry Burst assigned…" Jazz used a wheedling tone. Star listened with a grin. No wonder Jazz's name popped up so much in talking with her sister, Wild. He was certainly a charmer.
"You'll have to wait, I just sent the message," Prowl snorted, glancing Star's way for the first time. Star immediately busied herself with her tablet and turned on the logic game she had installed a while back. I still can't believe he likes logic games too, I though I was the only one in the entire class…Wild only plays with me to humor me.
Star heard the clicking of footsteps and the creaking of desks as the two friends ended up in desks beside her. The class wasn't going to start for another few minutes, so Jazz kept chattering away. Suddenly he went quiet and Star glanced up.
"Hey, you're that one femme's sister," he chirped cheerfully, "Wildstrike's."
"That's right…" Star replied cautiously.
"You sang at the studio once too," Jazz grinned, "I don't believe I caught your name…?"
"Well, I didn't drop it," Star answered before thinking, "I mean…"
Jazz laughed, "It's alright, I've been told that before. Your name was… Electrostar. That's it!"
Star nodded slightly, and slid a glance at Prowl, and to her surprise, he looked faintly amused.
"I believe I said that once," he commented quietly, and then kind of looked awkwardly away, faintly embarrassed. Star's spikes twitched for a moment before she smiled.
"Hey, I heard you liked logic games," she said quietly, "Have you ever played this one?" She held up a grid with nine boxes, and within those boxes were nine more boxes. There were numbers scattered in the grid, and a few numbers had already been filled in.
Prowl brightened noticeably, "You play 81 Squares?"
"When I have time," Star replied sheepishly, "If you want… sometime we could play each other."
"Um…"
"He'd love to," Jazz replied before Prowl had a chance to back out and grinned.
Star grinned to herself. Maybe this dorky kid wasn't so bad after all.
