Knauff vs. Snape
By Lexi-Danielle Rohrich
Professor Snape from Harry Potter is the only teacher that can make "Turn to page 394." sound like a death threat…besides Mr. Knauff when he is really agitated. Mr. Knauff and Professor Snape have many similarities and many differences. They both have very unique personalities and have specific ways of teaching their students. They both have a reputation for being mean although I'm sure way, deep down inside, there is still a small spark of humanity remaining in their soul.
Professor Snape and Mr. Knauff have many similarities. They are both teachers, they both give little kids nightmares, and they both have really interesting personalities. Professor Snape is a grumpy old buffoon, who doesn't give a crap about his reputation. He does not like Harry Potter because Snape was in love with Harry's mommy, and he does not tolerate non-sense or backtalk. He also is very knowledgeable when it comes to Potions which is basically the same thing as chemistry. Mr. Knauff can be grumpy, doesn't tolerate back talk, and doesn't like it when students never study. He also is very knowledgeable about history.
Professor Snape wears the same thing every day: robes with flared sleeves that make him resemble a dungeon bat, a white collared shirt that is mostly hidden by his potions master jacket that reaches just past his knees, black slacks that cover his square-toed boots, and a black flowing cape that increases the dungeon bat look. Mr. Knauff normally wears casual slacks (usually khaki), a polo shirt advertising his favorite sports team, sneakers or loafers, and a blue jacket with the Manchester logo embroidered in yellow on the top left. They both usually wear grimaces and rarely ever smile, but when they do it's never a good thing.
Although they have many similarities they also have many differences. Professor Snape actually is a mean, soulless, greasy dungeon bat, figuratively speaking, while Mr. Knauff is a hard-headed, stubborn, deplorable man. Professor Snape also is a very secluded, withdrawn, lonesome man. Mr. Knauff is outgoing, friendly (when it comes to teachers), and approachable man.
I think it can be agreed that Mr. Knauff and Professor Snape are equally mean, tough, and stubborn. Though they have similarities they also have differences like, Snape looks Goth and Knauff looks like he forgot to take off his Halloween mask. In conclusion, even though they share many differences and similarities there is one thing that is different and the same about the two: A bad day for Knauff is like a normal day for Snape.
