The Moon's Radiance

"Do you like beholding the moon as well, Robin?" Starfire's voice was as gentle as a wisp of a breeze, as magical as the night itself.

In response, Robin patted the ground beside him. The Tameranian girl sat quietly beside him, on the roof of the Titans Tower, and for a while there was silence as they each breathed in and became part of the huge, beautiful night. Silver light washed over the teenagers, and the bright moon hung brilliantly in the sky. The stars were like tiny grains of sugar scattered across a dark canvas. There was a sense of ineffable peace in the soft air, as if there was absolutely nothing that could go wrong.

"Sometimes," began Starfire. Robin turned to look at her, his eyes gentle under the crisp mask. She was gorgeous, bathed in light and practically glowing. She turned her eyes toward him, and he was immediately swept up in their intense emerald purity.

"Sometimes," she repeated, "I feel lonely and very disturbed. I…sometimes feel I do not belong here, on such a wretched, beautiful planet." She paused.

Go on, Robin silently urged here.

"So I take comfort in the Tameranian meals and Earthly joys, and I take comfort in my friends…but I take much comfort from this peace, Robin. I am glad to have you here with me."

"So am I," Robin breathed quietly. Her tiny eyebrows raised a little as she smiled.

"Robin, do you love someone?"

He couldn't believe he had heard that. His heart stopped, and his vision faltered and swam. How could she ask that? How could she be so open and honest all the time?

"Robin?"

Her voice came from so far away…

"Robin, are you all right?"

He managed to pull himself together and bring himself back to the present. Starfire's face was alarmingly close to his, and her eyebrows were furrowed with concern. The fiery happiness that had once shone in her eyes was now replaced by worry. Robin's head swam dizzily again as he breathed in her scent…sweet, mellow, Starfire…

He was unaware of the small moan he uttered.

Now Starfire was very worried. "Robin! Are you ill?" she panicked, grabbing his arm and shaking him.

"Ow!" The shaking was what saved him. He rubbed his sore wrist. "Don't worry about me, Star…"

She fingered the end of one of her glossy ruby bangs. "I love someone, Robin. Do you?"

"…Yes," He answered vaguely, unsure of what else to say.

Starfire smiled playfully. "Then, who do you love?"

Robin's insides churned…should he tell her? Tell her the three little words that would mean the changing of the world…the changing of his status as…

"Another time, Star," he murmured apologetically. "I…it should wait."

"I understand," whispered Starfire, turning away so that he wouldn't see her tears.

"It should wait…until now," he finished, grabbing her arm and whirling her around.

"Mmmf!" she squeaked rather adorably as his lips crushed against hers, and then her eyes slowly rolled back into her head as they registered the moisture and the pressure of the kiss. She gave a low purr, and graced her eyelids shut.

Robin had no idea what he was doing…no other thought in the world…and his heart had stopped altogether, and it was only his kiss with the girl he loved that saved him from unconsciousness. Under his mask, his eyes were wavering with tears.

This was his paradise. Her paradise. The moonlit paradise, under which there would be many heartfelt adventures and loving memories born.

"Star…" he murmured against her lips…

Sorry it's kind of short. And fluffy!
