Well, I finally got my party all put together and I simply adored the reunion scene for Polka and Allegretto on the cliff, so symbolic and everything!
Since Allegretto had the view last time, it's Polka's turn!
So this is basically part of that scene from Polka's view, starting where Allegretto tells her not to jump. Although I get the premonition that she's going to jump later in the game anyway...silly woman.
And I know I didn't get the words from the scene word-for-word correct, but I did my best. I mostly focus on the symbolism of the rock situation for Polka and how Allegretto gave her the same thing
I do not own Eternal Sonata or the characters.
Enjoy and review!
Someone I Love…
"Polka, don't!" yelped Allegretto.
What in the world? I turn to where he has risen beside me, complete concern and sincerity in his blue eyes. We had just found each other again for the first time since everyone got split up at the bridge. After talking for a while about how people are always so mistrusting, I ended up making a joke about jumping off of the cliff so I would be reborn. Never in my mind did I think that Allegretto would immediately yell out like that.
"What? Allegretto, you don't really think I'd do that do you? I may not have long to live, but I wouldn't be that stupid."
He takes a deep breath and gets to his feet, seeming to be somewhat relieved. I take my special rock for my pocket, one with a very unique shape that I apparently received from someone I loved.
"I'll throw my treasure instead. May it make it all the way to the sea!"
I throw it as hard as I possibly can and Allegretto looks at me.
"What did you throw?"
"A rock with a unique shape. I've had it for a very long time."
"Oh, that reminds me. I found a strange rock on the beach in Ritardando," Allegretto murmurs, pulling a rock from his pocket and showing it to me.
I gasp, my eyes going ever so very wide. It's the same exact rock I just tossed less than a minute ago!
"Here, take it. I bet it's more unique than the one you threw; I've never seen a rock like it before."
I accept it from him, my shock furthering as I realize that it really is the same rock. How is that even possible, is it by coincidence? No way, I just can't believe there would be two rocks exactly like this. It's like a swirl colored red, almost forming half of a heart in some ways.
"Just…don't throw that one away, okay? It….It's the first gift I've ever given to a girl after all."
He walks back the way he came, turning back with a smile on his blue eyed face as his neat and short silver hair frames his face softly.
"We'll be meeting at the port in Ritardando, so don't be late. See you tomorrow."
I look back down at the rock.
"It's the same rock I received from someone I loved…..and now I've received it from Allegretto….a rock from someone I loved….from Allegretto. So does that mean….?"
My heart jumps up and I hold the rock close to me. Of course that's what it means….
