Torak POV

Wolf bared his teeth in a big wolf grin. I laughed.

"Go on, Torak, give him another one!" Renn giggled.

"What about me? Do I not deserve one!?" I said indignantly, still laughing.

"No!" Renn shouts, and before I can move, she grabs the pouch of Lingon berry oatcakes out of my hands.

"Hey!" I growled, and Wolf watched with amused expression. His amber eyes calculating, he gazed at us intently.

Suddenly he turned and raced away, in the direction of his den. I had to suppress a sigh. It was hard to do anything with Wolf now, because he was always with his mate and cubs.

I know I shouldn't be annoyed, because it was good his pack had expanded. I was happy for him in a way, but I knew we'd both changed. We had responsibilities now, greater than we could imagine.

"Come on; Catch me!" Renn yelled, throwing the pouch into the air and catching it. "If you can.." she added, and grinning mischievously, she ran off into the wood's.

"Oh, I can!" I shouted, and I sprinted off after her.

As I ran, tree branches whipped past me, and the undergrowth snared my ankles. Humph. The forest wanted Renn to escape!

Where was Renn? She should be right in front-

Suddenly a brown blur leapt out at me, smelling of Lingon Berries and sweet flowers.

"Agggh!" I gasped, and struggled against the creature.

"Ouch! Stop kicking me Torak! Its me, Renn!" Oops. I suddenly realised Renn was lying on me, clutching her side.

"Oh. Sorry." I mumbled, raising myself up on my elbows. "Can I have an oatcake now?"

"Umm..yeah..sure." Renn said, sounding deflated. Somehow I guessed this wasn't the reaction she was looking for.

"Renn?" I asked, and she ducked her head down, hiding behind her curtain of dark hair.

"Mmm?"

I swiftly leaned forward, tucking her hair behind her ears and then I pressed my lips to hers.

"Oh!" she gasped, and I was afraid I'd done something wrong. I pulled back, anxious to see her face.

"Sorry-I- um" I stuttered, but Renn said nothing, just grabbed my hand and kissed me.

Her lips were smooth and full, and I felt like I was experiencing a new Renn, a Renn I most definitely liked.

After what felt like forever and only a second all at once, we drew back slightly, and Renn lay her head on my shoulder.

I was breathless, exhilarated, but so happy I felt light.

"Mmm… Torak…you taste of Lingon Berries…"
