He remembered every detail. Sometimes he went over it five times in a day. The way her hair smelled so sweet and how no matter how many times he passed her in the crowded halls the smell of roses would tip him off that she was in the area. John had never been a romantic but he liked to think that once he had romantic moments. If for her and only her, because she was his dream girl and that sir never left a guy when he met the girl that fueled his every dream. Hair that was fire engine red, just the color he loved and with curls that fell so softly down her back that in class he would just think to reach out and touch it. But in the end he never did, not in class that is. He watched her across the room. Laughing at something some random student would say. Who he didn't care his eyes were on her and every time she'd look back and catch his eye he would look away or act like he was staring at his Zippo instead.
Click, Click , Click. The sound that was produced a million times a day by the teenager named John Allerdyce being bored and flicking his said before lighter. And there she was Artemis Zeller, sometimes he could see the ice forming on her breath and wondered if her lips were cold or warm. Other times he wondered if he could warm her up by a way deemed quite dirty by any person not in the same frame of mind. It wouldn't be long though before she was his, and he knew it just had to find the right time. John did find the right time, a crying Artemis in the dead of the night sitting in a gazebo that he had never taken notice of in his life at Xavier's. A letter was clutched in her hand and tears flowed down her cheeks and this time there was no ice in them. It only took an hour before he had her hugged up in his arms; her family had disowned her for being a mutant she had no one and that night he was glad to be someone she could lean on.
Tears and gentle comforting hugs turned into passionate kissing, hands moving across every inch of skin. The sounds of her losing her virginity to him, and to tell the truth losing his to her as well, broke the silence of the night. Soft moans accompanied by louder ones before they both laid there on the floor of the gazebo dazed, satiated and completely happy in each others embraced was how the night ended and they spent a good portion of the night just like that. John never forgot that first time or the others that they spent together before he left the institute to join the brotherhood. And he never forgot her, she haunted his every dream and he knew that soon he'd have to find her again. And find her he did. Still with Xavier's crew but this time just a little older and just as beautiful as before maybe even more so. When he woke in his, well cell he supposed it was to the smell of roses in the room he thought of her.
His eyes opened and there she was sitting in the chair asleep and looking like an angel. His angel and the only ice he'd allow to be near him now and forever. John carefully ran a hand threw her hair and over her face and her eyes snapped open. Dark green met his own eyes and a smile played over her lips as she got up and kissed him gently on the lips. "I've been waiting for you" she told him and he knew she meant it in more ways then just for him to wake up.
