Title: Gr8 Date

Pairing: 8059

Summary: Every single time Gokudera and Yamamoto go on a date, something happens to wreck it. But after every date Gokudera still gets a text from Yamamoto saying, 'Gr8 date!'

Notes: I own nothing.

Gokudera assumed it was always a sign that the universe hated the idea of him and Yamamoto getting together, and would do everything in its power to ensure each and every one of their dates were ruined. It never stopped Gokudera from dating Yamamoto, since he decided fate was a bitch anyway, but it was very aggravating when every single date turns into a disaster.

Their first date had the waitress spilling a tray of drinks all over the both of them, but since it was already near the end of the date they decided to just go back to their respective houses, change clothes, and call it a day. Fate obviously decided it needed to beat their heads in so they would stop going out.

Their trip to the zoo ended up with the both of them almost getting eaten by a tiger. Yamamoto still had the scars from when the beast gave his torso a little 'love bite'. The aquarium involved some crazy mafia members trying to drown Gokudera, and while they got their asses handed to them by an angry boyfriend, the date was still a failure. Even when they weren't on a date, just trying to sneak some kisses during lunchtime, Hibari would always find them and start attacking them for inappropriate public displays of affection.

The thing that confused Gokudera was that every time, after every single one of these failed dates, he would come home to relax and get a text message from Yamamoto. 'Gr8 date!' it would always say, and Gokudera would then have to wonder just how hard the baseball player just hit his head, because it was certainly not a great date. After exactly two hundred and fifty failed dates (Gokudera had been keeping count, trying to see how long he could hold out against fate) he asked Yamamoto why he kept sending that silly text.

"Because I get to spend time with you!" Yamamoto said, as though it were the simplest thing in the world. "Sure, something might go wrong-"

"Monumentally, violently wrong!" Gokudera interrupted, but Yamamoto just smiled.

"-but every time I get to go out with you is great, just because I get to spend that time with the person I love most."

Gokudera flushed red and stammered out something inaudible, and Yamamoto just grinned that simple grin of his and wrapped his arms around Gokudera, pressing his lips against the other's in a kiss that perfectly cemented the words he just said. Gokudera moaned and wrapped the other boy closer, melting into his kiss.

They both jumped when the door to the roof slammed open and Hibari strode out. Gokudera growled and let his forehead fall against Yamamoto's shoulder.

"God damn it!"
