Summary: This is not Wonderland, she was not the Queen, he was not a card soldier, so why was he still painting flowers?

"When I wake up

The dream isn't done

I wanna see your face

And know I've made it home.

If nothing is true

What more can I do?

I am still painting flowers for you…"

-"Painting Flowers"- All Time Low

'My Dearest BJ,

I know you'd rather not give me the gory details of you situation, and part of me wants to understand and accept it…However, I feel that it would be a great injustice on both our parts if I were to do so.

I do know that these things are terrible and painful. I can even begin to imagine what you're going through, it is a war after all, but…

This is not Wonderland, I am not the Queen, and you are not a card soldier. You don't have to paint the roses red just to please me. Tell me anything and everything.

Now I know what you're thinking B.J. Hunnicutt, and I'm here to say that I'll worry regardless, until the day you're back here where I can keep and eye on you. The day when I'll be able to see you for myself.

And until that day…the day you come home…I'll be here to listen.

All my love,

Peggy'

He smiled as he read the letter, he should have known better than to try and do that to her. She was much stronger than most women…that was one of the things that he loved about her. Another thing was the way she could take anything and relate it to something else…"Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" had always been her favorite children's book…it was something she often made relations to. Apparently, there wasn't anything that couldn't be found there, in between the lines…and now he was inclined to agree with her.

"Painting flowers…" he whispered to himself as he picked up a pen and pencil and began writing…

'My Queen of Hearts,

I am terribly sorry for this injustice, I always thought you liked your roses red instead of white, but as your humble servant I am obliged to adhere to your requests…'

A/N: Haha! I BJ and Peg fic, you don't see very many of these…ever…and this little ditty has been bouncing around in my head since I heard the song on the "Almost Alice" soundtrack, being such a great Alice in Wonderland fan…I just couldn't resist. So…tell me what you think. I know it's not perfect, but I wrote this at like…very early in the morning. So yeah….that's it!

DISCLAIMER: As always...I own nothing...absolutely nothing.
