December 31st 11:48
The party that ensued hours before was amazing. The people, the music, the dancing, and the games. Allies and enemies alike gathered and the line that divided 'good' and 'bad' was covered on that specific day. Everyone partook in the festivities, challenging one another in a friendly way. One would think this oddity was a dream, seeing everyone get along.
Po opened his eyes, slowly. He was spread out under a blanket next to the game table. The sunlight met his sight when he rolled over, and the panda rolled to the other side after cringing his eyes. With a sigh, he sat up and exhaled another breath.
Po rubbed his eyes and yawned as he searched the room. What he saw couldn't keep him from chucking softly.
Apparently he was the only one currently awake. Everyone else in the room was asleep, even Shifu. And that was a feat thought rare with his sleeping disorder.
Po turned to the side, noticing Zhong and Monkey cuddled against the largely built Master Ox. Obviously, they mistook him for a pillow, and without a blanket in such cold weather, could only use each other's body heat.
He turned his sight to the next group, the three vixen sleeping together. Tigress and Song slept facing each other with Viper sleeping in between them, clutching her body around Tigress' leg. He knew he was right. The only time Tigress and Song got along was when they were sleeping.
Po found it funny how all of them boys and girls slept apart. Crane was sleeping in what looked like the most uncomfortable position ever. The lower half was on the ground while the upper half was leaned over the dinner table. Mantis slept to his right, leaning against the table in his dreamlike state. Po almost cracked up when he saw the sleeping body of Master Croc, pulling Crane's legs over his body as if they were a blanket
Over in the corner, separate from the director's friends, slept those who, despite today, were considered enemies.
Tai-Lung, Shifu's once adopted son and his world, leaned against his long time nephew. Even when he slept, he had that annoying know-it-all smirk on his face.
Po immediately snapped his head behind him when he heard the doorknob to the room turn. He figured it would be him, since he wasn't among the sleepers in the room. Sighing softly, he turned completely around, facing the figure entering the room from the other side. The figure closed his eyes, and sighed in annoyance.
"…Happy new year, Panda."
The panda blinked, momentarily flabbergasted. He closed his eyes, and rubbed his neck. He laughed quietly before turning back to his enemy. "Joy and happiness in your life."
At times Po wondered why they had to be enemies. Wondered what horrible tragedy his parent's had done to the aged man that closed off even the panda's kindness from his heart. But later that day he would have to leave those thoughts behind. He would have to put on his armor and lead the masters. He would have to defeat his enemy as many times as it took. 'Perhaps in the next life…'
