Love Rhyleigh xoxox
It was so childish.
The threaded cotton, strands of your favourite, plaited tightly together, tied around your wrist.
Completely unimportant, but yet it was everything.
You had worn it every day for ten years- there was not one time when the cotton wasn't plaited around your skinny wrist. Rubbing against the bone, wet from your shower.
Sometimes you forgot about it, and found yourself fiddling with it, absent mindly. You don't notice people staring at it- a grown woman fiddling with a piece of string.
Because for you, that piece of string is everything to you.
Your boyfriend sighs, but doesn't ask. He has been told a million times not to ask questions about it, but you can see them lingering on his lips. He's the man you trust, but you can't trust him with that.
That bracelet, tied around your wrist, is the reminder of your one and only love.
There are millions of reminders, hanging around, but none more than that bracelet.
The plaited cotton, wound tightly around, is the one that you love the most.
You could still feel her tying it together, asking if you liked it.
You did, you said. And you weren't lying, trying to cover up your infidelity.
You really did love it.
And you cried, because you remember her sweet smile, a blush creeping onto her cheeks.
You cried because you remember Joey Collins.
