Raven sat on her bad, catching up on some long overdue reading. Her teammates were out on leave, celebrating yet another Earth holiday (there were so many she had lost count), and she volunteered for regard duty yet again, planning to make the most out of the time she had to herself.
She missed them, of course. But she needed time away from the overwhelming emotions and thoughts of the city, in order to regain her clarity of mind. She doubted her friends would've enjoyed her company, anyways. This was just yet another celebration that she could never understand.
"Oh Raven, I have just returned from the celebration of the days of hearts and chocolate! All the love and affection humans have for each other was so wonderful to witness! How I wish you could've joined us!" Most of the other Titans had enough sense to stay out of her room, but Starfire was standing in the jamb, her hands full of paper and candy, just begging to be invited in.
If it had been anyone else, Raven would've flown them away by now. But Starfire may have been overexurberent, but she would never mean to be intrusive. In fact, if Raven even suggested that, she would've broken the poor alien's heart. Keeping her face set, Raven replied, "I'm... glad you got into the spirit of things, Star."
Starfire smiled brightly, calming down a bit. "I know you prefer to be left alone on days like these, but I couldn't help myself." She walked to Raven carefully, as if she was afraid she might breathe wrong. "I made this for you this morning. I hope you enjoy it." She put a paper heart with sparkly lettering into Raven's hands, bowed deeply, and escaped before the priestess could say anything.
Gingerly, Raven ran her hands over the rough paper, unsure of what exactly to do with it... and then she put it on her shelf. It was made by Starfire herself, and that alone made it worth keeping. Besides, her room could use some brightening up.
