Just a short little one-shot to get me back into writing, written for Ralinde's Pairing Diversity Boot Camp at HPFC. The prompt was "caramelized".

Your first love is your last in a lot of ways. Never again will you love so completely, so purely, so naively.

For Lorcan, it all starts and ends with Molly. Molly at sunset, her hair a striking golden-red that matches the sky so perfectly. Molly in class, her copper eyes resting on his forearms and his lips and the blackboard, never settling on one specific spot. Molly in the morning, her gold eyelashes fanned out against her pale, soft cheeks. Her voice the song of his summertime and his school year, her laugh the reason for him to wake up every morning, her suntanned skin the exact color and taste of caramelized chocolate.

Long after she's forgotten about him, long after she has disappeared into another man's bed and he into another woman's life, she's still the one Lorcan loved first.
